Mr. Kale

I have lived in this neighborhood since 2021 and didn't notice Mr kale. About two years ago coming from work after midnight I wanted fruit and discovered the price point was good. On frankin after midnight there isn't really a good selection of fruit and vegetables except recently near the Franklin ave subway on eastern parkway. But it's a fruit stand and if the weather is bad you may not want to stop. During the day mr kale is busy but the ladies at the cashier is fast and friendly. Along with a wide variety of fruit they sale beer premium and wine and teas in the box and dairy products. Basically a mini mart. Fruits and vegetables are so important in any neighborhood and there still many food desserts .mr kale is located a few blocks down from the Franklin ave subway 123 45 line .

Produce is fresh, prices are good, and lots of variety. I'm glad to find a store with Asian produce, kimchi, frozen food, and ramen too - seems like they may be Korean run. Mr Kale quality is same par as Mr Beet and Mango stores elsewhere.

Love that it's open late night. In my opinion I wouldn't buy milk or meat here. I don't think the freezer temp is cold enough. On multiple occasions the meat has had a rotting smell. And milk has curdled within a day of use. Good for packed goods though.

Quitting my job to become a full time Mr kale customer. Just got $2 raspberries in January. Grocery down the street charges $5 in June. Possibly top ten groceries in the city. I would love to meet Mr. Kale and give him a kiss. I love you Mr Kale .

How are the staff constantly restocking, yet all of their food is expired and moldy? Had to stop buying dairy here because it was always rancid. Also they leave produce outside touching the ground where dogs shit and piss. Rats come up and eat it. All around very unhygienic place.

I always get my produce from this store. For fruits and vegetables, the pricing is unmatched. I frequently found a container of strawberries for a dollar last winter. It is always entertaining to discover a few random products significantly discounted inside the store. Alcohol is also available in the back of the store, along with Asian products in the freezer and the fridge next to the produce.

Best (and cheapest!) place to buy produce. Plus they are open 24/7 in case you need a midnight broccoli
