Watch out for the the old lady with the long hair and glasses. She seems real friendly and sweet but is deceivingly wise and will try to get over. Make sure that whatever you're getting has a pricetag sticker on it , because she'll tally up and try to overcharge you ridiculously otherwise, especially on the knick knacks and if you're buying more than one or two items. Dealing with such shadiness was an unpleasant experience at best, and I will never step foot in that store again.

Do yourselves a favor and just go next door either to the original Bombay Spice House, or Milan. The stuff on sale is a jumbled mess, and a lot of product is expired. Owners are weirdly pushy and love talking about Modi for absolutely no reason.

DO NOT SHOP HERE AT ALL COSTS. We were unaware of the reviews. Traveled 2 hours initially just to go to Roopam Sarees. Then made a stop here where we were conned into buying kitchenware that was actually overpriced and cracked. Returned the kitchenware and got items but there was so many expired items. Might as well go to any other store but here.

I don’t know if it was the owner or some guy who just worked there, but he was so rude and nasty to me. I was browsing, just looking around, probably would have bought some snacks. But the man wouldn’t leave me alone. He kept shoving different products in my face, urging me to buy them. When I refused, he started to yell and cuss at me. I almost called the cops. I dropped everything I would have bought and left. Don’t shop here, you’ll get harassed. everything looked old and junky anyways.

My absolute favorite Indian supermarket in the East Bay. The owners and staff are so inviting, informative and, above all, kind. Whenever I go there, as a non-Indian, who practices Ayurveda and cooks a lot of Indian food, they are always so helpful in helping me find the spices that I need. In addition they have incense, and puja items, and a beautiful selection of ghee, and Ayurvedic superfood that I use every single day. I feel like I am shopping with my family, as their kindness and patience with me. I often stop on my way to hike on Mt. Tam, and "Jackson" has been so kind to introduce me to some snacks. When I was looking for herbs to make a hair oil, Brahmi, Amla, and Bringraj, they had it! Patronize these wonderful and kind people -- they deserve your support as they contend with huge corporate supermarkets. Blessings to All.

First time I’m writing a review… Absolute waste of time ordering anything online from here. Placed an order for a Bollywood dvd. Got no update from them for shipping. Chased them for 10 days for an update only for them to say ‘We don’t sell this DVD’… then why on earth are you still selling it on your website. Do not give this place your business.

We recently bought a few items including a few packaged cookies. I consumed the cookies and ended up in the hospital for an allergic reaction. lot of testing later it was confirmed that the cookies which were expired were the cause of the anaphylactic reaction. I discovered after my hospitalization that all the things we purchased were expired. STAY AWAY OR MAKE SURE you check the expiry dates when you purchase from here.
