Wagaya Groceries - Westside

My experience at Wagaya Groceries – Westside was absolutely amazing. The store has an incredible selection of authentic Japanese groceries, ingredients, snacks, and ready-to-eat dishes that make it feel like a true specialty market rather than just a regular grocery store. Everything was well-organized and easy to find, and the overall vibe was clean, welcoming, and culturally rich. The cashier was extremely kind, patient, and knowledgeable—happy to answer questions and help guide me through different products, which made the experience even better. If you’re looking for quality Japanese food, unique items you won’t find in big-name stores, and great customer service, this place is definitely a must-visit.

My kid found Wagaya, while searching for an Asian grocery store. The online reviews & photos made it seem like a good fit for us. Not so authenticity Asian as to intimate us, but unique enough as to offer an alternative to what one would find at the typical grocery stores. It is small but offers fares from food to animie swag.

Bought some groceries and fish there and the experience is amazing. Great quality fish for a good price and the customer service is very good. Answer calls and text very quickly.

This doesn’t pertain to the contents in the store itself (it looked lovely), but the parking situation. The lot to park for this store was closed off with three orange cones and a red car parked sideways with no one standing outside, so I had to park my car on the side of the street for about three minutes to ask where I was supposed to park (for context, this lot is on the side of a trafficked road, so I wasn’t able to stop and see if someone was inside the car). Inside the store, an attendant told me that the person inside the red car would let me into the lot if I told them I was a customer there, but after those three minutes, I went back to my car and had a boot and had to pay $75. Whoever is working parking there needs to stand outside to make it clear that you can park there, because I could not tell the person in the car was a parking attendant and not someone blocking the entrance off. I didnt have it in me to go back to the store after that, but maybe I’ll find another time to visit.

Great selection of japanese snacks, pantry items, cooking ingredients and desserts! There is fresh onigiri (salmon, plum and roe). The fresh dango is so soft and delicious! I cannot wait to come back.

A must visit if you're local or tourist. Friendly staff and owners. Helpful and are glad to give out tips and suggestion on what is best for certain items or merchandise you want. They have it all. Happy to viti your grocery store and hoping to come back again.

Love the new, expanded, permanent neighborhood gem of an Asian market space below Wagaya, offering midtown Atlantans and the Georgia Tech community an easier way to access a fantastic selection of Japanese, Korean, Chinese and other Asian snacks, candies, noodles, sauces, and other grocery items that you’d previously need to drive up to Buford Highway/ Doraville / Duluth / Chamblee for. This is in addition to the amazing selection of sake and craft beers. Some of my favs are kasugai gummies, entire shelf of rice porridge flavors from Bonjuk, which I’d not seen at any other markets around town, ddukboki, duru duru dumplings, Yeo’s lychee and Hey-Song guava juice drinks, chestnut IPA, hitachino yuzu lager, bamboo shoots in chili oil, sashimi grade tuna and salmon, and bread from White Wind Mill bakery. Convenient stop when picking up takeout from Wagaya (or sister restaurant Chirori next door). To find the market, head down the stairs between Chirori and Wagaya, and the market will be directly below Wagaya on your right hand side. There is free parking on this lower level as well.
