Atlantic Dermatology - Wilmington

Two stars vs one because everyone is nice. Doesn’t bill for screenings or preventative/annuals (but this is where I was sent for one? And then I got an unexpected bill since insurance didn’t cover the specialty it only covers annuals/preventative). Tried to discuss a billing issue with them—called and left a VM with the office manager 10/24/25 it’s now 11/11 so I called again—it’s in the works I’ll return and update my review once resolved. Again, everyone’s very nice it’s just poor communication.

Edit to add: I sent an email per their request in their response on August 28 - it is now Oct 21 and I have yet to hear anything back. I had an appointment ~2 months ago, and was called back 40 minutes past my appointment time. Quite annoying considering I had left work and got back late because of it. Everyone was nice, but I was not warned of the wait when I got there, and no one apologized. I figured it was a one-time thing. I came back today for a follow up appointment, waited 50 minutes past my appointment time, asked for a refund on my copay and left. Again, there was no warning of the wait and no apology, although the woman at the desk was nice and quickly provided a refund. I spoke with other clients in the waiting area who stated this is an ongoing issue. I’ll be finding a new dermatologist because I expect to be seen at the time of my appointment. If you come here - plan for an extra hour. Giving 2 stars because they are nice and the treatment I received worked, but they don’t respect their patients’ time or even acknowledge the inconvenience of the wait.

Called to get a sooner appointment because I think I have a melanoma spot on my nose. Said they still can't get me in until April. Then hung up on me. I'll go somewhere else that understands urgency and has friendly, welcoming staff.

Dr. Wheeler is easy to talk to, and she's very friendly. She has never failed to meet my expectations. I highly recommend her to my family and friends.

Practitioner saw was fine, but her nurse had the worst bed side manner. I asked her to have my practitioner call me back and she was so offended, she hung up on me and never gave the message. Go elsewhere where they appreciate your business.

Dr Crane and his entire team were very professional, friendly and efficient. They made the details of my visit very clear to me. Highly recommend them and the team!

This has to be a showcase for any service organization that wants to pride itself on excellent public acceptation, faithfulness to customers, grooming its staff to be found courteous, and professionalism everywhere. Smooth operations comes to mind also. I haven't found them at any fault in any visits that I have made. Their care and their interest in me and my health relieves me the worry that I may not have the care I need. I do here at Atlantic Dermatology in Wilmington, NC.
