Most unprofessional experience I've ever had. Waited 45 minutes for a call back to make an appointment. Then still waited 15 minutes on hold. When someone finally answered they said I needed a referral (I have a PPO plan so I can't get referrals for derm appointments). And the lady was so wildly rude and said "it's a clinic requirement" and then literally hung up the phone. What a disappointment.

Sometimes it takes 6 months to get in, other times it can take a few days. Most of the time they are helpful but appointment wait time from signing in on time to being seen even for a quick shot is usually 1 hour. It's a teaching clinic so they will work with you to validate parking sometimes. Although it's best to find street parking, take the bus, or bike. Anyway, my worst experience was when a student diagnosed me with backne when I had nothing on my back but a mole and a hair growing from it which was news I found after I got home and had my family look and I have absolutely no history including genetic heritage of ance. And I think the most confusing part was I had a dermatologist treat me for facial cystic acne for years. Guess what I found out after all that? It was the blue dye in my Adderall pills! I stopped taking the blue colored ones and never had a problem since. I had gone through multiple creams and pills including Accutane which truly wreaks your skin since it'll always be dry and sensitive to sun and heat. It hasn't recovered the same since. I have experienced many visits here in the last decade, you can count on options and education from the real Derms here. Be wary of those students. They are sometimes not listening to their patient and quick to diagnose. Dr. Vary and Dr Crimp are the best that I've seen here. They know how to care for your concerns with a plan of action and reasonable expectations. You can count on them to listen while managing enough time to see you and get what you need. Don't forget this is a teaching clinic so you may need to plan over an hour. Don't forget to advocate and also reach out to the nurses because they're always very friendly and helpful here.

Unfortunately, my experience with UW Dermatology has not been good. I was referred by my Rheumatologist almost a year ago and have yet to receive an appointment. It will be one year in July. I have called repeatedly. On one call, I was told they had no record of my referral. After I protested, they found the referral and apologized. Another time when I called to check on the possiblity of when I would receive an appointment I was told they didn't know. I then asked to speak to a supervisor and was told none was available but that one would call me back. No one has ever called me back. Had I not found another dermatologist, I would have suffered irreversible damage. I realize getting to see any Dermatologist in the area is difficult but this is ridicluous and detrimental to peoples health.

Always some sort of issue at this place. Cancelled appointments because doctors won’t actually be in clinic that day, cancelled appointments because doctors didn’t show up, getting rescheduled with a different doctor that doesn’t do the procedure that your original appointment was for, prior authorizations not being processed leading to (you guessed it) more cancelled and rescheduled appointments. They also love to run late causing you to spend more money on their parking.

I agree with the bad reviews posted. Zero customer service. Waited for an hour and finally asked about the delay. The nurse announced that I will not be seen for a while. She also told me that this is an urgent "first come-first serve" appointment. Really? I made my appointment a week ago. How is it urgent? And the scheduling person didn’t mention anything like that. Terrible. They really don’t care or value your time. However, once the doctors arrived they were great and addressed my issues.

This is the most disheartening facility I have ever worked with. Going to this specific office of UW médecine has single handedly bankrupted me as they bill ALL of their appointments and tests as outpatient/hospital facility charges along with individual facility fees for each visit (upping the cost per visit WAY past your co-pay) with no warning. I would never go here again as this method of business is incredibly predatory on patients.

I have a very rare genetic condition. The doctor was on time, had excellent communication in terms easily understood, was caring and concerned. Gave me options for treatment. Welcomed follow up visits if I needed them. Highly recommend!
