Dermatology Specialists: Aponte Carole MD

I've been going here off-and-on for years. I just don't have a huge need to see a dermatologist on a regular basis. I was basically fired as a patient because I hadn't been there recently enough. I was told that I had to start over as a new patient and wait two months to get an appointment. The doctor was good and trustworthy, but the office staff and policies are nonsense. There's more to doctoring than just doctoring. Patients aren't cattle.

I am a new patient who turned to Dr. Aponte after an insurance change made my previous dermatologist out-of-network. Previous reviewers here had me very worried, so I sat down to write of my own experience as soon as I got home. Perhaps Dr. Aponte, her colleagues, and staff have been reading your reviews, because I had the most pleasant experience I've ever had with a dermatologist and staff! From the day I called to make the appointment, through the two-day reminder call I received (in which I was told that downloading and completing my paperwork in advance meant I didn't have to arrive 15 minutes early) and my call to Sarah this morning to alert them that I was running 5 minutes late, to my arrival, every front desk assistant was courteous, professional, and even friendly. The one who checked me out at the end was lightly singing along to the office radio and downright happy! The nurse in the exam room was kind and considerate. When Dr. Aponte entered, she was surprisingly warm, friendly, patient, and kind. She sought out and listened to all of my questions, offering helpful suggestions, a free sample of something I asked about, and affirmation of the things I've been doing right. Her actual examination was the most respectful I've ever received, and I left feeling like I hadn't known what I had been missing before. Made the appointment for my next annual check-up and now hope no insurance issues prevent me from returning to her. If your negative reviews have prompted them to improve, thanks! It worked!!

I love Dr. Aponte. She is knowledgeable, quick and she explains everything in detail. I am very happy with her and all her staff. They don't waste your time and give you great professional care. I called Savannah today and told her I didn't have time to go pick up my lab order from their office. She graciously spent time to find a lab close to my house and faxed my paperwork to them. This made everything easy, and I saved time, money and energy!! I have been her patient for almost 5 years. Dr. Aponte is the best dermatologist one could ask for.

Had an appointment about something on my forehead. I was made to feel comfortable and at ease. Dr Aponte's expalnation was in plain english and easy to understand. But the best part was the time I spent. I was in the exam room at the time of my appointment and was treated and back in my car in a very reasonable time. My time is as valuable to me as the Dr's time is to her. She was very respectful to me and my time. If I ever need a dermatologist, I will see Dr. Aponte again.

Dr. Aponte is professional and considerate. I have a busy schedule and never had extended wait times. Exams are quick, and efficient. I've never left her office feeling unsatisfied. And her recommendations for my skin care have always been helpful and exactly what I needed.

The nurse and front office staff were kind and happy to help. However, I felt wildly inconvenient to Dr. Carole Aponte for simply showing up to my appt. She was professional, obviously medically minded, but (possibly) unaware of her lack of positive regard for me, and likely other patients. She was clearly annoyed by me and did a poor job hiding her irritation. Could be compassion fatigue (weary from caring for patients day in and day out) or she was having a bad day…either way she’s human and is allowed to have days where she’s off but I don’t see myself recommending her as I felt like a pest to her the entire time she was in the room.
