WARNING about unfair billing at Valley Medical Center Kent Station! My wife went for a simple appointment on August 28th. The doctor was nice but referred her to a specialist. No problem, right? Wrong. We received a bill for a "consultation" that happened on August 29th—a conversation my wife wasn't even aware of! We were already scheduled to see the specialist in person in October, so this surprise bill provided ZERO benefit. And of course, our insurance won't cover it. Unethical and completely unacceptable. Patients should not be billed for services they don't know about or consent to. #MedicalBilling #UnfairBilling #Healthcare #ValleyMedicalCenter #KentWA

First of all, the person who answers the phone sucks. I've got a friend who works at a funeral home who has more life than she does. Second, their next appointment availability is 2027?! What a joke.

I've been going to Valley for the last 10 years, specifically their Renton locations for the last 5 because I spend most of my time in Renton. However, I tried scheduling an appointment yesterday only to be told they won't schedule me because my address is in Federal Way. After much back and forth I asked the scheduler to "Tell me definitively: can I drive from Federal Way to Renton to see the doctor?" The scheduler said "Yes, we allow that." So I told her, "Then schedule me with the Renton dermatologist!" She said no, I'm not in their service area. I hung up on her because it was an absolute waste of time. I later found a different dermatologist that was able to see me within two days time, which is a much quicker turn around than any time I've EVER scheduled an appointment with Valley (Valley usually only has availability about 2 to 3 months out). I have no idea why Valley is suddenly refusing patients care based on their zip code - this has never been an issue for me, and frankly, I think it crosses some ethical boundaries. I have a family friend who works for Valley and has nothing but negative things to say about their behind-the-scenes operations. I have to admit that I didn't take them very seriously before, but after having this experience firsthand, I am never going back to Valley for any medical service of any kind. Terrible, unethical, arbitrary nonsense. Dear Valley: Your call center is a significant barrier to compassionate patient care. Do better.

I was surprised to see mid-level ratings for the Dermatology Clinic as my experience here has been outstanding. I got right in, my exam was fairly quick but thorough, and the doctor I saw was extremely pleasant! I've already scheduled my next appointment. Also, my dad saw a different doctor here and always had the same, great experience.

This clinic truly earns its two-star reviews. It's apparent they have little to no regard for their patients' well-being. Nurses are unresponsive to messages, and securing a prescription refill is impossible without a doctor's appointment—even when the next available slot is three months away. Their lack of sympathy is chilling; I was told, with a cold indifference, that 'there's nothing we can do.'

They won't even look at the calendar to give you estimated dates of an appointment without taking down all of your information. In the age of data breaches, be very careful and think twice before calling. They will not and have not removed my information. I didn't agree to them storing my information, and they now won't remove my information.

I’ve been in the medical field for 25 years and have never seen or experienced such negligent conduction of care:( My referral was for a full cancer screening due to very serious symptoms. Dr. Walsh did not do any type of screening and appeared to have not even read my file when she finally got into the room almost 20 minutes past my appointment time. When I expressed my concern about not doing what I was referred in for, I was met with gaslighting and invalidating remarks/excuses for the misconduct. She eventually confided that she did not have the time to do it today because it was not scheduled accordingly, then kept repeating that I needed to make another appointment. I waited months to get in for this appointment and would have to wait a half a year to get back in, if I decided to go back to this place. Of course, I will never go back here or refer anyone here for any reason especially considering neither the doctor or any staff attempted to reconcile the situation. Continuity of care is expected/required by the highest level of medical authority and moral aptitude. People go to the doctor for their expertise and prescription for coordination of care., and it appears this place, along with many others, is either lacking the care coordination skills, and/or are taking advantage, and possibly purposely stacking scheduling to increase financial or kickback gain. Next steps are starting a case with the medical commissioner to support standard and ethical treatment. Please do yourself a favor and pursue more holistic and sustainable healthcare. I can only hope, as I candidly shared with Dr. Walsh, that these constructive criticism’s may help motivate the clinical standard of treatment for patients and people across the discipline moving forward.
