Customer Reviews
Petrin Dermatology has a rating of 3 out of 5 based on over 42 reviews on Google
I had contacted several dermatology clinics . This was the only place that gave me clear answers in pricing. I met with Catherine Del Secco, PA-C. There was very little wait time. Front desk was very friendly. Catherine was very though and her assistant made a great team. I had a positive experience, will be back to try their microneedling services in the near future. I highly recommend this clinic. Quick Overview: Clear pricing Quick response Quick appointment date Plenty of reminders Plenty of parking Excellent service
The office was over an hour late for my appointment time. I offered to pay my co-pay at time of appointment and they said nothing was due. The Dr did a five minute examination and told me to come back in a year not addressing any concerns. The office then called me requesting payment multiple times. Frustrating
Although I can understand where some of the negative reviews are coming from, I disagree with the harshness of most people. If you’re considering Dr. Petrin here’s what you should know. As with most dermatologists he has a LOT of people to see in a day. If you’ve ever tried to get an appointment at a dermatologist you know that it can take a long time. To help get people in sooner and see more patients Petrin does go pretty quickly with his patients. I came in seeking treatment for eczema and he only saw me for maybe 3 minutes but it was clear I had eczema and just needed a prescription ointment to manage it. So there was no reason to waste too much time on me. And that is fine by me! If you have something that needs diagnosing, maybe that’s not your preference. But for something as simple as eczema, that was perfect. Second the front desk ladies were a little…awkward? They were nice but they just seem like not the most bubbly, outgoing, hospitality type personalities. When I walked in they were both on the phone (like I said so many people need a dermatologist!!) and it would have been nice for them to have said "be with you in just a moment" but instead they sorta just stared at me while they wrapped up their calls. It was a little awkward but not necessarily bad. Just not 5 star hospitality. They did everything in their job descriptions just fine, just didn’t go above and beyond to be super enthusiastic and bubbly. Which is perfectly fine. Lastly, so many complaints about the cost as if that’s their fault. Dermatologists have prices. It’s YOUR insurances fault if you end up paying a lot of that. A lot of insurances don’t cover things like dermatology fully. Not their fault. So if you’re concerned, call your insurance first and see what’s covered! So overall, yes Petrin is fast paced and maybe isn’t going to be the person who spends lots of time diagnosing and yes the receptionists aren’t major extroverts. But everyone did their job well and deserved far better reviews than they have.
I will be forever grateful for the care I got when I needed an urgent drainage procedure. I was seen within 30 mins of my call, and everyone were amazing, especially the nurse. Thank you!
I would give them a zero if I could, but I am forced to give at least a star. They were assigned through our new insurance, and believe me they got my formal complaint about this practice as well. The service is horrendous to say the least. They are unresponsive, my daughter has left 11 messages, I have emailed twice and they still have not scheduled a follow-up. She has received no prescription, treatment, etc. they charged for an office visit and then nothing. I will never take her back there again. From the reviews I saw afterwards, they need to fire the PA and change their office staff.
If you want to be treated like a broad category rather than a human being and receive the same or worse level of information that you would get from ChatGPT, go to Petrin Dermatology. These kinds of doctors are a joke. Barely even looked at my skin or asked me half a question about anything before trying to prescribe me something, then seemed bothered that I was asking questions. At least try to make it not obvious that you just want to move on to your next five minute appointment so you can cash in on more insurance money.
Unprofessional and thoughtless. My husband arranged to take the day off for treatment, scheduling the appointment weeks in advance due to holiday and travel schedule. He went through a very trying process to get signed up as a new patient, and then they had no record and it all had to be repeated. They texted him eight (8) times to remind him of his appointment, the last text was last night. And when he arrived this morning at their offices for the scheduled treatment, they canceled his appointment on the spot and told him to reschedule. Like so many physicians, their convenience is of utmost importance, with little concern about the inconvenience to their patients.
