The nurses at Women & Infants are the reason this hospital functions. They were exceptional — compassionate, skilled, and deeply committed — despite working in a visibly understaffed and under-supported environment. With the exception of the surgical and anesthesia teams (both excellent and communicative), my interactions with physicians were limited, brief, and largely transactional. I experienced an extremely prolonged labor that did not need to last as long as it did. After many hours on misoprostol (a cervical softener) — and on Pitocin, I spent 16 hours in active labor. At no point was I clearly informed that my labor was progressing significantly slower than expected. As a result, I lost the opportunity to engage in timely, informed decision-making about the best course of care for both me and my baby. After nearly 60 hours, the experience began to feel far removed from patient-centered care and from my own agency. Several diagnoses were only shared at discharge, with rushed instructions for follow-up, leaving me overwhelmed once home. Additionally, the recovery room was extremely small and not conducive to optimal postpartum recovery. The nurses, midwives, CNAs, medical assistants, and janitorial staff were outstanding. The failures I experienced were systemic and institutional. A final note: resources spent on cosmetic upgrades — like oversized TVs in labor rooms — would be far better invested in staffing and support, particularly for nurses. Without them, there would be no Women & Infants.

Labor and delivery is excellent, recovery on 4th floor not so much. Anything you say or ask for pretty much goes forgotten until you’re pissed off and demanding it. Asked for meals like 3 or 4 times before someone actually delivers. Need some IBUPROFEN??? You better have level 4 government clearance!! Trying to get some sleep at night?? Watch out for the CNA who comes in every 30 min, blasts every light in your room on at 3am to check your vitals. GOOD MORNING!!! Overall not a pleasant recovery, but did you die?? No….which is why I gave 2 stars.

We did not really have a great experience. First off I want to say that some of the nursing staff were great and others were not. It felt like time was money and we were lied to a lot. You shouldn’t feel like your feelings don’t matter especially while being induced and going into labor. The dilation was not properly checked, nurses would treat her like what she was saying was no big deal. She was under a lot of pressure and one of times we complained one of the nurses just said "dig deep" as if she wasn’t already trying her best. My child was left in the birth canal because of they were not checking so that resulted into constant heart rate drops and when he came out he was the color purple. To keep this short cause I could write pages of complaints, nobody should have to feel like they’re in a baby factory. Women should be taken care of the correct way and should be HEARD! Also the postpartum rooms are VERY small.. the smallest room and it’s uncomfortable. I would not recommend this place at all

I Did Not Have a Good Experience Here. I Experienced Light Racism From Some of The Staff and I Was Harassed By The Social Worker in the NICU. She Harassed Me Everytime I Went There to Visit My Daughter. And She Didn't Even Get Punished or In Trouble For it. I Will Not Ever Recommend This Hospital. I Made Patient Experience Aware of Her Harassing Me, But They Did NOTHING at All. Beware of The NICU Social Worker Raquel. She's VERY Unprofessional and She Needs Serious Help. She Starts Trouble with Patients and Harasses Them Probably Because She Knows She Will Get Away With It. They Will Not Help You if You're Being Harassed By Their Staff.

Women and infants were amazing! I had an unexpected complication at 31 weeks pregnant and the whole care team from ER, nurses, CNA’s, housekeeping, doctors, dietary, have been phenomenal! They kept me at ease during the most difficult and stressful times of my pregnancy and kept me at bay and calm. I would recommend them for delivery 1000%.

9/15/2025 - 9/17/2025 I had an emergency labored and delivered for my second baby at Women & Infant Hospital. My experience went above and beyond my expectation. I was so much in pain during delivery due to my preeclampsia. From check in to check out, the team doctor, nurse, and every single staff from every department treated me really well. We got such an amazing talking care and services from every single department. They all are professional, polite and respectful. I truly sincerely appreciated all of your hard work. If I could give more star I would. Thank you so much Woman &Infant Hospital!
