Robert Lepore is incredible — friendly, knowledgeable, and genuinely attentive. He asked thoughtful questions about my skin and really took the time to understand my concerns. I had a small wart on my face that was driving me insane, and Rob removed it within seconds. The whole experience was quick, professional, and completely put me at ease. I left feeling relieved and so grateful. Highly recommend!

Hakim (PA) is awesome! He is friendly, knowledgeable and caring! Calmed my nerves and got me through a squamous cell cancer diagnosis and treatment. I highly recommend him. I referred my wife who's seen him for a few issues and she heartily agrees with this review! New review 9/2/25: Landon (PA) is EXCELLENT! Engaging, knowledgeable, skilled and good humored. I highly recommend him as does the rest of my family! My 5 star review is for the medical staff. However, the reception room needs cleaning. The rug is dirty and faded with paint chips strewn about. The window shades are askew showing no one really cares and the lamp shades are loaded with dust. The front desk staff could also be a LOT more welcoming, kind and connected with the patients. One time I was there, wasn’t taken in until 45 minutes after my appointed time and no one apprised me of what what was happening, nor apologized. Again, the medical staff I’ve encountered have always been great!

Very good experience here. Visited with a physician assistant on a Saturday morning. My appointment was at 9:50am but I arrived early and the PA saw me at 9:30. Was glad to see there were weekend hours and was happy with the efficiency and kindness of the staff. Will definitely come back here for any potential future dermatological needs.

Honestly really didn't enjoy my experience here. I am now visiting this Derma for the 4th time to get rid of a simple pimple. The first time the Derma suggesting just injecting it, which I did, I asked if it would make sense to get rid of this with a punch excision. The Doc said yeah maybe wait to see how it goes which I did. 2nd visit came along, the same Doc who saw me previously didn't recognize me as a patient and suggested we inject it again. At this point I'm really confused because the injection didn't help at all but whatever. Time goes along and the pimple STILL doesn't go away. I decided to get a procedure to get rid of the cyst. I book on the phone with a different doctor for the 3rd time, they confirm they can do the procedure. I get to the office and they say they don't do that procedure. So at this point this is my 3rd time coming to this office. Next week will be my 4th appointment, hopefully the dermas are competent enough to actually get rid of the pimple but I don't have high hopes. I would be more than happy to go to another derma but I don't want to pay ANOTHER out of pocket cost just to learn that it's a cyst and I need a procedure.

I went in for my appointment yesterday, and while the office itself was very clean and the doctor and medical assistant were both really nice and professional, my experience at check-in wasn’t great. When I walked in no one greeted me or asked me about my appointment time right away I was just standing there. It just felt a bit rude and unwelcoming. Other than that, the rest of my visit went smoothly and the care I received was great.

THINK TWICE! The worst customer and billing service. Avoid at all cost! I feel bad putting this low review because the doctors are good, but the hustle that I have to gone through to get the insurance claim fixed has been a pain. On my second appointment, they submitted the wrong provider number to my insurance, so of course, my insurance did not pay for the services, so the Derm. Sp. office went ahead and charged my credit card with $400. I have tried to get in contact with their billing department by phone, email, and chat, but they are all unresponsive or say they will look into it with no actions followed. I had read similar bad reviews before going to my appointment, but I hoped it wouldn’t be my case. It has been 4 months since, and I still have no resolution to my issue. I will provide updates if, and when, they resolve my issue…

Jan 2026 - just had to add a shout out to Eshita for her insurance knowledge. Amidst so many confusing details, she made it easier. She always looks up information and really tries to help patients out! Dec 2025 - Another stellar appointment.. Robert Lepore explains things so clearly and concisely. I feel so trusting and grateful for his care. I had many questions, and he answered all of them so succinctly yet comprehensively. I also appreciate his upbeat spirit. I’ve been doing light therapy for several months and can’t say enough good things about Awa. She is so pleasant and genuine, and I enjoy talking to her. Her professionalism is met with sincerity and care about my progress. It’s always nice to see her. I cannot recommend The Dermatology Specialists enough. And they’re consistently busy, which tells you how good they are! Oct 2025 - Just want to say how wonderful the Lower Harlem staff are. Every time I come in (which is often, light therapy) they are kind. One of the receptionists always remembers my name, and the other front desk staff are equally welcoming; The staff who do the light therapy, likewise, are so informative and concerned for my well being. And today I saw Robert Lepore who was also fantastic. He gave me a clear overview of the issue and it was simple and a relief. Likewise, on the phone, Arlette was so great-- understanding my question and caring about the follow up. I could not be more grateful for such caring, diligent, trusted people throughout. I’ve seen so many dermatologists over the years, and this is the first practice where I feel cared for and that people track what is going on with me. I was hoping to find a doctor that offers holistic treatments and thought that was wishful thinking. The Dermatology Specialists does. I mentioned how great Dr. Romar is in a past review, so read that. He is fabulous! Sept 2025 - I react to so many medications, creams, and over-the-counter products and it has been very difficult to find a wonderful dermatologist. I'm beyond grateful to Dr. Romar for his expertise and time he takes in appointments. He answers questions and even validates them. Also, the staff is great. I feel welcome and in trusted hands. Thank you!
