Schweiger Dermatology & Allergy - Financial District

Went for an appointment as a new patient this past week and everything went great. She answered all of my questions and even removed something off my body that Ive been self conscious about for awhile, all in the same visit along with my initial consultation/skin screening. She will absolutely be my physician moving forward! 10/10 - great service, great staff, no wait time, extremely professional and knowledgeable, great bed-side manner.

UPDATE: Their office contacted me and said that insurance companies only cover annual skin exams as preventative care when performed by primary care physicians. This is the first time I've experienced this and find it incredibly shady I was able to book a skin screening and have it performed in their office despite them stating it must be done by a PCP. ***** I really wanted to like this place especially since the provider was very kind but instead they have shady billing practices as outlined by other folks in their reviews. I went for annual skin screening and booked it as that thru their system, but nope! They want to bill my insurance differently to get more out the visit depute the visit being exactly what I asked - preventative skin cancer screening. Very disappointing.

Stay away from this practice! Worst place ever and awful customer service. Do not go unless you want to get scammed out of your money. I booked an annual skin screening here, which is 100% covered by my insurance, and has always been covered at other dermatologists that I’ve been to. A nurse practitioner saw me for less than 5 minutes doing a basic visual examination. I got a bill that charged me for a 30 minutes appointment for $150, nowhere on the bill mentioning it was just an annual skin screening. I called multiple times to try and get this corrected but the people I talked to on the phone said that it would go to billing and I would get an email about my dispute of the bill. In the email I received it said that my dispute was not valid, that they don’t do preventative appointments at the practice, even though I booked specifically as an annual skin screening (which is preventative). If they don’t do preventative care, then don’t offer that as an appointment option. When I emailed back to say that I wouldn’t pay the bill until I talked to someone, the next communication I got was a letter from a debt collection agency. Such an unprofessional and deceitful practice that should be avoided.

My experiences at Schweiger Dermatology has been excellent. Appointments are made easily and if changes regarding time and place are also conveniently rescheduled. Dr. Moraru is a skilled caring and knowledgeable provider. I had been seeing another provider for many years and when I had an emergent situation that person was not available any time soon. My friend suggested Dr. Moraru who was willing to f to see me that same day. Needless to say I never left. Thank you for taking the stress away and being treated with dignity. 😀

I had a great visit as the medical staff were knowledgeable and the front desk staff were very friendly.

Went for my first visit and loved how friendly both reception and Susan Hirsch was. Hirsch was extremely professional, thorough in her explanations to my questions and best of all, she treated me like a patient AND a person. The office was clean and bright. I was very happy I was able to schedule an appointment before business hours in less than 24 hour notice.

I had a wonderful experience with Dr Silverman at Schweiger Dermatology group. She had great bedside manner and was attentive and knowledgable. She also let me know prognosis and best course of action and was sure to make a follow up appt to track my progress
