Aglow Dermatology

I had an appointment today and the experience was extremely disappointing. The doctor was cold, dismissive, and came across as if I was an inconvenience rather than a patient seeking care. There was no warmth, no effort to build comfort, and very little communication. The visit felt rushed from start to finish. My concerns were not properly explained, questions were not meaningfully addressed, and the overall energy was simply "I don’t want to be bothered." That is not acceptable in a healthcare setting where patients deserve respect, attention, and clear information. I specifically chose this provider hoping for a level of understanding and professionalism, but instead I left feeling uncomfortable, unheard, and frustrated. Bedside manner matters, and this interaction fell far short of basic expectations. I would not return based on this experience.

I visited Aglow Dermatology many years ago. Recently I returned to have a simple chemical peel. Dr. Strachan and her staff (Zoey) made my experience very easy. They explained my options and the benefits. The administration process was smooth and very easy. I would highly recommend contacting Dr. Strachan if you are thinking about or have question concerning skin and options.

Perhaps aging was never meant to be easy! When I saw Dr. Strachan in July '24, my concerns were many about fading spots, psoriasis outbreaks, and an outgrowth of moles. One by one she expertly and patiently addressed my concerns. This is why my family and I have been Dr. Strachan's patients for over 20 years (now inclusive of our pre-teen daughter). She is also a thought leader and innovator at the top of her field. Data and thorough research drives her practice, treatments, planning, and prognosis. We are so grateful to have her as our long-time dermatologist!

The best thing I did was stop going here. I had about 5 visits and they all felt rushed. Her attitude and bedside manners are terrible. It was like pulling teeth to get her to explain my diagnoses in a way that I fully understood. I didn’t feel like I was properly treated. Additionally, office staff were a bit unorganized and blamed me when they made mistakes. Finally writing this review because I want people of color to be released from this idea that we have to go to doctors just because they are of color too. She is an ok doctor at best and I’m happy I did my research and found an office that can actually treat my condition

My experience at Aglow Dermatology was absolutely outstanding. From start to finish, the team provided expert care, making me feel comfortable and confident throughout my treatment. The results speak for themselves my skin has never looked more radiant, smooth, and refreshed. I left feeling renewed, glowing, and deeply grateful for the professionalism and artistry of their work. I currently go to Aglow Dermatology for treatment of keloids on my face and have had a great experience. Dr. Strachan is very kind, knowledgeable, and takes the time to explain everything, which makes me feel comfortable and confident in my care. I was referred to this clinic by my primary care physician for a dermatology evaluation due to a recurring and noticeable lump on the back of my head. These symptoms have been ongoing for more than six months, which I clearly explained during the appointment. I provided my full medical history, described the symptoms in detail, and explained the reason for the referral. While the doctor did listen and performed a brief general skin examination, a significant portion of the visit was repeatedly focused on the importance of using SPF sunscreen, despite this having little relevance to the specific issue I came in for. When it came to the main concern, the examination was extremely superficial. The doctor briefly looked at my scalp, stated that it was "just a trace of a pimple," and recommended Aquaphor. No diagnosis, no explanation, and no meaningful evaluation of a problem that has persisted for over half a year. I left the clinic with the same unresolved issue and the clear impression that my concerns were not taken seriously. This felt less like proper medical care and more like a checkbox appointment.
