Dermacare Encinitas at Schoemann Plastic Surgery

I had an upper and lower blepharoplasty with Dr. Shoemann, and unfortunately, I regret my decision—especially the upper blepharoplasty. Originally, I went in only interested in a lower bleph. During my consultation, I was told my eyelids were uneven and was encouraged to also do an upper blepharoplasty. Being in a plastic surgery office at 31 years old, I think it’s easy to start questioning yourself and your appearance. Of course, no one wants "uneven" eyelids, so I agreed—despite not feeling that I truly needed it. Looking back, I wish I had trusted my gut. I loved my face before. Now, a year and a half later, I still feel sad and disconnected from how I look. I don’t fully recognize myself, and that’s been emotionally really hard. I went in feeling confident and pretty, and left feeling like I needed to be "fixed"—when I honestly didn’t. Another thing that stuck with me was the way the consultation felt. I never felt reassured or affirmed—just analyzed. It made me feel more insecure rather than supported. This isn’t written out of anger, but out of honesty. If you’re considering cosmetic surgery, especially when you don’t feel a strong need for it, please really sit with that decision. You can’t undo it, and the emotional impact is real. I wish I had chosen differently.
