Amy McClung, MD

I recently visited the US Dermatology Partners Brodie location for a routine skin cancer screening and left feeling highly dissatisfied with the quality of care from Dr. Amy McClung and her assistant. I made it clear that this was my first dermatology appointment, yet the visit felt rushed and impersonal. Very little explanation was provided during the exam, and I was not walked through what the doctor was examining or what to expect when a biopsy was taken from my leg. After the procedure, post-care instructions were handed to me on a printed sheet from her assistant rather than being discussed, which left me feeling unsure and unsupported. I understand that skin screenings are often brief, but I expect clear communication and a more patient-centered experience, especially during a first visit that includes an unexpected biopsy. I’m sharing this feedback in hopes that future patients receive more thorough explanation and engagement during their care, as this is not what I received with Dr. McClung.

Our family had a HORRIBLE experience with Dr. Amy McClung. Unless you want to throw your money away, do not go to her. My stepson could not even get her to answer any questions re his skin condition, & I, personally, got pushed out of her exam room by her awful assistant, Joanna. The doc spent LESS than two minutes with me, & then, lied about leaving the office, when the receptionist said she was still there. I still had concerns, & needed a cortisone shot, & yet, they handed me a bill, sent me away, & told me to come back in six weeks. Very unprofessional, & disappointing...They were in a big, fat apathetic hurry.

I don't leave many reviews, yet I thought I would for Dr McClung. She has a lot of great reviews in other review sites, as she should. She and her assistant did a thorough evaluation of my body to find and remove several precancerous growths. In addition, she identified a spot of cancer that was missed by my previous dermatologist! I was pleased by the amount of time they spent looking me over and taking care of my issues.

My first visit to Dr. McClung was a quick and pleasant experience. She diagnosed my skin problem and looked at some other areas that I was concerned with. I left with peace of mind and a simple solution to my skin irritation. I was worried for several months before making the appointment. Boy, did I ever sleep soundly that night knowing that I was healthy. Thank you Dr. MCclung!

Dr. McClung scarred me. I had a small dry spot that would appear occasionally and was annoying. By the time I got an appointment with her, it was barely showing. She decided she would burn it off, which I didn't know what that meant. There was no explanation and when I tried to ask questions she shut me down and told me her assistant would give me the information I needed. In case you don't know what it means, it hurts (I needed Ibuprofen for the pain) and it takes typically a month to heal. In my case, she held it there too long and it took 6-8 months (during the summer) before I wasn't embarrassed (itches, red raised area I had to put ointment on) with how my arm looked. I still have a white scar a year later. All I can think is, thank God it wasn't my face.

Dr. McClung and her staff are wonderful. She is patient, courteous, thorough, and very professional.

Dr. McClung is at the top of her game! Aside from being a fantastic MD, her bedside manner is friendly, fun, but also knowledgeable and efficient. She is my personal go-to for cosmetic procedures, and I actually enjoy having appts with her... how many Dr's can you say that about? I refer family members and friends to her, to all which have had positive experiences as well. Thank You Dr. McClung!
