I would not recommend. After yr of suffering with hands and feet peeling and miss diagnosed, said had atopic dermititus, I went to a family clinic and they run blood test and found that I had ANA autoimmune. And set me up with a rumotolgist. Dr Baker I ask about a blood test for psorasis, she started off and said no test for that. No compassion for patients, all about money with her.i ask what is next ,she said could do another test or change medication and said come back in 4 weeks.doest even care you been suffering for a year.
If you are looking for rude, dismissive, and a "God complex", she is your doctor. Then if you want to change doctors within High Plains Dermatology, it is not allowed. Do not use Dr. Baker.
Direct and Attentive, Answered all my concerns and questions, Overall great impression.
Dr. Baker is great! When I arrived the ladies at the front desk had the most best customer service skills. The wait time was not long at all. When meeting Dr. Baker, she was very welcoming and knowledgeable. She first went into details regarding issues and literally gave me all of the options possible. Price was not her concern, meaning she was not pushy about making me choose the procedures that cost the most, she was most concerned about what procedure will work for me the best. I highly recommend coming to Dr. Baker. You will not regret it.
The staff is very welcoming and seem eager to assist. the clinic seemed efficient. The MA introduced herself along with her title and gave a brief overview of what was going to happen. Dr. Baker is lovely. Her mannerisms and communication style was confident and reassuring. I felt comfortable and I felt that I was in good hands.
Today, I experienced a deeply disappointing level of service at Dr. Christi Baker's office at High Plains Dermatology, which was not only inflexible but also lacked the basic empathy and understanding expected in healthcare settings. Despite arriving at 8:15 AM for an 8:30 AM appointment with my 87-year-old mother, who requires assistance and a walker for mobility, we faced unexpected challenges that led to a less than satisfactory encounter. Firstly, the limited handicapped parking significantly delayed our entrance to the building, making us reach the reception at 8:23 AM. Understanding the importance of punctuality, especially in medical appointments, we hurried as much as possible given the circumstances. Upon arrival, we were required to fill out extensive paperwork, even though she was not a new patient, a task made more pressing by the absence of my mother's insurance card information in the UHC app, and its physical version was not available as she had not received it in the mail yet. Despite our best efforts to rectify the situation swiftly and being on the cusp of providing the necessary details, we were curtly informed that we had missed our slot by mere minutes and would not be accommodated. The front desk staff's rigid adherence to procedure, devoid of any attempt to understand or mitigate the stress of the situation, was startling. Their approach was not only inflexible but also came across as condescending, which is never acceptable, particularly in a profession that, above all, should exercise compassion and sensitivity. Offering a noon slot as an alternative without considering the implications of such a last-minute change on patients' schedules demonstrates a lack of regard for the challenges and responsibilities we juggle daily. This rigidity and apparent indifference to patient needs are concerning, especially when dealing with elderly patients who require additional assistance and consideration. As someone with a daughter who is a physician, I understand the challenges of managing a healthcare practice. However, the fundamental principles of care, understanding, and flexibility in accommodating patients' needs, especially the elderly, should never be compromised. This experience has left us feeling undervalued and dismissed, compelling me to question the clinic's commitment to patient care and service. It is with regret that I find myself having to leave this one-star review, hoping it serves as constructive feedback for Dr. Baker and her staff to reassess their patient interaction policies and practices, ensuring that future patients do not have to endure a similar ordeal.
I've had a few issues with skin cancer and had a place I was concerned about. Called and was able to get in from a cancellation within two days. It was at 11am and they were busy, was in the office a while before I got in. She diagnosed the issue very quickly and took care of them. Very professional, been going to her for over 6 years and will continue. I highly recommend her and High Plains Dermatology.
