I wish I’d read reviews prior to my visit. Good availability and start of the appointment was perfectly fine. Then, the appointment became so rushed it bordered on rude and unhelpful. The doctor’s note-taking assistant wasn’t even able to keep up with the speed of the appointment. She asked me what the doctor said when the doctor left the room. I have no idea!
I have been seeing Dr. Rau for a few years and trust her care and appreciate how she explains what she is doing during examinations and treatments. I would recommend her to anyone who needs her care.
If I had gone here for a check my melanoma wouldn’t have been found . Dr Flynn is awesome
The office staff are so friendly and welcoming while Dr. Rau is not, please consider all these negative reviews because I didn’t. I saw her twice, the first time as a new patient and the second as a follow up. The first time she was pleasant, listened to my concerns, and wanted to explain things. The second visit there was NONE of that. I was talked over, interrupted, received condescending comments, and worst of all she made a comment made about my personal private life. I immediately stopped the appointment and let her know I was uncomfortable and wanted to leave. She didn’t apologize or try and rectify the situation she just left. I won’t EVER be back, or recommend this place.
Without going into great detail about my own horrific experience today, I will 100% own up to the fact that I disregarded my own research and found out the hard way to listen to the reviews. If you are in need of medical care, please do your research before putting yourself in the position I have. Edit: the experiences about Dr. Rau particularly are absolutely what I learned firsthand. The staff was great! But they’re not the ones sizing you up to determine if you’re worthy of the treatment they provide, selectively it seems.
I went to see Jamie Flynn and would not recommend her. While in the room discussing with the nurse/tech what I was in for today, Jamie opens the door and says "I'm right here, just let me look at it" without saying hello or introducing herself. Within seconds, she says it's a benign angioma. No explanation of what that is, how someone gets one, what the options are in terms of next steps, really any of the information you'd hope a medical professional would follow up with when you go in for an appointment. So I ask if they go away on their own, to which she says no. Then I ask if I can get it removed today, to which she says no. She explains that if it were cancerous they'd be able to remove it today, but since it's not, they can't (that they quote "aren't prepared to remove it"). Since all of this happened within 30 seconds, I asked how long the appointment was allotted for and she said "5 minutes." 5 minutes. At this point, the experience with her felt so unprofessional and negative that I said I would just schedule the removal with another dermatologist. She seemed surprised, so I explained that I was not happy with the experience at my appointment which was why I wanted to just go somewhere else. She replied that she did not understand why I'm saying this was not a good experience. I hope this review sheds more light. From not introducing herself, to not volunteering any additional information on what my diagnosed condition was, to not expressing any empathy towards my frustration regarding removal, I'd rate my experience very poorly. Absolutely would not recommend.
Just terrible. I’ve been going to Dr. Kimberly Rau’s office for 10+ years but seeing her PA Jillian for most of that time. Jillian was wonderful but recently left the practice forcing me to see Dr. Rau. She was awful to me. Rude, unkind and unprofessional and challenged my medical records. I have a family history of skin cancer and melanoma and have had several procedures to remove suspicious moles. None of which Dr. Rau could find documented in my medical records. When I reminded her that her office removed all three moles she told me they don’t misplace records and got nasty with me. I showed her all 3 scars from procedures performed in her office and reminded her of the results and she scolded me for using incorrect terminology., The entire experience was awful and I left in tears feeling belittled and humiliated. And let’s not mention that I waited for over a hour for my appointment. I will absolutely never return. The staff however was friendly and kind and it was clear they were doing their best. Two thumbs down 👎🏻 👎🏻
