I’ve visited this office twice and unfortunately had disappointing experiences both times. My most recent appointment was scheduled for 2:30 PM for a routine cleaning. I arrived early and was not seen until around 4:00 PM. At my first visit, I waited nearly four hours. Long wait times have been consistent in my experience. The dental hygienist was kind and the cleaning itself that visit was fine. However, my interaction with Dr. B was uncomfortable. Before even reviewing my X-rays, he commented that I "look like I’m 12 years old" and asked where my parents were. I felt this was unnecessary and unprofessional. When I mentioned I had Invisalign done internationally, he rolled his eyes and implied I chose that option because it was cheaper. This felt dismissive and unrelated to my current care. He left shortly thereafter, after barely reviewing my x-rays and not telling me about them. I ultimately left feeling confused about my treatment plan. As someone who works in healthcare, I value respectful and clear communication. That standard was not met during my visit. I will not be returning here.

Dr. B and his team are a 5 star dental office in high demand with many loyal clients such as myself. They use the latest equipment in pain management and I’ve never had a problem in 10 years. The word Modern is how I would describe the overall experience. It’s busy at times like any good quality health provider. It’s worth it.

My first visit was great. I was seen by Dr. Houman Baratian, and he was amazing — very professional, thorough, and my cleaning was done perfectly. I felt confident in his care. On my second visit, I saw a different doctor at the same office, and the experience wasn’t as good. He didn’t seem very attentive and quickly suggested replacing my crown without properly checking the issue. I got a second opinion elsewhere, and it turned out to just be food stuck in my gum causing irritation. After a proper cleaning, the pain went away. I had an extremely frustrating and concerning experience with Modern Dental in Torrance, related to loose dental implants and misrepresentation of warranty coverage. On January 15, 2026, I called Modern Dental and spoke with a staff member named Nathan to confirm whether my dental implants came with a lifetime warranty. He told me he was unsure, checked with his manager, and then clearly stated that my implants were covered, that I would not have to pay anything out of pocket, and that the warranty applied because the implants were placed at their office. Based on that assurance, I scheduled an appointment. I came in on January 20, 2026 at 9:30 AM to see Dr. B and waited about two hours before being seen. Despite my visit being for loose implants, I was somehow scheduled for an orthodontic consultation for braces, which made no sense. I attended the orthodontic appointment on January 23, 2026, where the orthodontist told me I did not need braces. When I asked staff why I had been sent there at all, no one could explain it. The staff appeared confused about my treatment plan. I was then told I needed to come back again to see Dr. B for reevaluation, resulting in repeated trips with no resolution. Later that same evening, I received a call from Modern Dental stating that I would now need to pay $1,000 for lab fees, which directly contradicted what I was told both over the phone and in person about having no out-of-pocket costs under warranty. Between the inconsistent information, excessive wait times, unnecessary appointments, and sudden unexpected charges, this experience felt disorganized, misleading, and unprofessional. My dental issue remains unresolved, and I have lost confidence in this office’s ability to manage patient care transparently and competently. I strongly recommend that anyone considering implants here get everything in writing and be very cautious about warranty representations.

★☆☆☆☆ Modern Dental: Don’t Be Fooled I really wanted to like this place. My first appointment actually started on time, and I thought, finally, a dental office that respects my schedule. But after that, it was a total bait‑and‑switch. Every single visit afterward, I ended up waiting over an hour — three times in a row. The staff sound nice and reassuring, always saying "you’ll be seen soon," but it’s just not true. Sitting there over and over again, watching the clock, I realized they were just stringing me along. It’s exhausting and disrespectful. I don’t care how friendly the voices at the front desk are — if you can’t keep appointments, you’re wasting people’s time. Save yourself the frustration. Modern Dental might look good at first, but they don’t value your time or your trust.

I’ve been a patient of Dr. B since 2016. O have never met a Dentist that truly values his craft, his team and mostly his patients. Dr. B comes from a family of dentist. Growing up he observed and developed the same passion and art to change lives one smile at a time. Dr.B truly enjoys teaching his patients the importance of oral hygiene and restoring confidence for those whom had not so great experiences in the past. For me, he’s corrected years of bad work from a previous dentist. This man is a God send. I moved to the East Coast for work but I will continue to travel to California. There will never be another dentist for me.

This place doesn’t care about your time. Go somewhere an appointment time means something. Had an app. @3:30 was there till six. Keep in mind they didn’t even touch my teeth they made them worse. Went for braces and left with a cracked tooth and then they wanna charge me for it. They don’t care for you or you’re time they fact that they only had one job (braces) and I came back with more under their care. Let this be a Warning to anyone out here. THESE GUYS ARE JUST BAD make use of your time and money go someplace better!
