Came in early for a cleaning as a new customer and the experience was smooth. Plenty of people available to walk me through the process. The exam was very thorough that they discovered one small wisdom tooth started to crown my previous dentists have overlooked. Definitely coming back for that extraction and future cleanings.
AVOID AVOID AVOID. I have had both the best and worst dental experiences of my life in Seattle - and Lina Kim DDS was the worst. I was new to the area in 2023 and came in for a routine cleaning only to be told I had four cavities that needed immediate attention. I am religious about dental cleanings every 6 months and never in my life have I had four cavities at one appointment. That should have been all the red flags I needed to walk out, but just like any good horror movie... I made a follow up appointment to get the worst two fixed. Flash forward to that appointment, I am told that the decay in one of my teeth is too deep to operate on and will need a root canal (whaaaa?)... the proof being that it failed the cold sensitivity test AFTER I HAD BEEN NUMBED in that area. I'm no dentist, but that's not how that works. They then proceeded to work on the other filling in my back molar, and it quickly became obvious that this was perhaps the first filling this person had ever performed before. I am no stranger to fillings, and this was the longest I have ever sat with a drill in my mouth - I was convinced that there was not going to be any tooth left. After she finished, I was relieved to find out I still had a tooth, but once the numbness wore off, I began to experience what would be come nearly 2 years of tooth pain and sensitivity radiating from that area. I found a new dentist (whom I love!) a month or so after that appointment since I was in so much pain, and she not only had to repolish the filling (she, very professionally, stated that the filling had been done very poorly) but also had to grind it down so that that tooth was completely removed from my bite and the nerves could repair themselves. To this day, anytime I bite down on something crunchy with that side of my mouth and feel that familiar shock of pain, I curse Lina Kim's name. Go anywhere else. It is not worth it.
Happy Client! Been going to Dr. Kim's for almost a year. The Dentists and staff are welcoming and do excellent work. I did have an issue with billing. Dr. Kim's team contacted me and made it right. I feel like they genuinely care. I highly recommend!
I’ve had a disappointing experience with Lina Kim DDS over the past couple of years. I became a patient in 2023 to receive multiple fillings, which were handled smoothly at the time. I was told that a few other spots would be monitored going forward, and I also paid out of pocket for SDF treatment as a preventive measure. However, during my most recent visit in July 2025, I was told I needed another filling—despite receiving no new X-rays and consistent positive feedback on my dental hygiene. This was confusing and frustrating, especially considering that my hygiene routine has significantly improved since the original treatments. Every visit, I see a different hygienist and dentist, which makes it difficult to establish any continuity of care. The doctor at this visit could not explain how the decay progressed or why the previous treatment plan failed, other than suggesting it was my fault. The front desk also confirmed that the tooth now requiring a filling had never been treated with SDF, which raises serious concerns about why preventive measures weren’t applied consistently. This leaves me questioning: 1. Whether treatment decisions are inconsistent and dependent on which doctor you happen to see. 2. Whether SDF was misapplied or insufficient. 3. Whether I was misled about the effectiveness of my cleaning routine and the care I received. This experience has left me with a deep sense of distrust—not just toward this office, but toward dental care in general. I now experience significant anxiety around dental visits and feel like I’m gambling each time I sit in the chair, unsure of whether another surprise filling is coming. I’ll be seeking care elsewhere from a practice that offers continuity, transparency, and accountability.
Awesome staff. Woke up with a horrible toothache on a Friday morning. New patient they've never seen. Called them, and they got me in THAT day. Dr. Chen and her staff took care of me and got me thru the weekend. I want to thank all of you for helping me!
One of my pet peeves is when a business tries to charge you without providing any service. That's exactly what Lina Kim's office is doing to me right now. I got a call on Monday from someone in Dr. Kim's office asking me if my insurance information had changed. I recently switched jobs and haven't yet received my new dental insurance card, so I told them I'd check in with my insurance for the details and get back to them. My insurance tells me they're looking into why I haven't received my card, but I can see on the website the policy states that cleanings in/out of network are fully covered. Dr. Kim's office tells me there may be a "small copay" if I don't have my coverage sorted out by my appointment on Friday, and if I want to cancel to make sure I do it by Thursday. Wednesday rolls around and I still don't have my insurance details. I receive a text message from Dr. Kim's office telling my "copay" will be $259. Which last time I checked is the entire price of a cleaning, so I'm not sure why they're beating around the bush calling it a copay, but anyway I text back that I'd like to cancel the appointment, and then I get a response saying that will cost me a $75 48-hour cancellation fee, despite what they told me on the phone about making sure to cancel by Thursday. And they waited to tell me this until Wednesday morning, i.e. just inside the 48-hour cancellation window. So yeah, it feels a lot like they lied to me about needing to cancel by Thursday, characterized paying out of pocket as if it was a copay, and strung me along until they could squeeze some money out of me either way. Hard to believe a dental office is that hard up for cash. Oh and also, their Dr. Hashemzadeh cleaned my teeth a couple times, and that guy is the worst. Seemed like the dude was trying to work out his frustrations in some kind of sick, sadistic fashion, digging the tool into my gums and scraping flesh out of the way to get at the bases of my teeth. And when I told him it felt like he was doing a sloppy job he got super defensive about it. Mind you I am a consummate flosser and have never been uncomfortable in the hands of any other dentists/hygienists in my life. Suffice it to say that once my insurance card arrives I'll be finding a new dentist.
I was late to my appointment today, but everyone treated me so respectfully. No one gave an impression that they were rushing, or cutting corners to try to get back on schedule. Great experience!
