Unfortunately, my partner and I had a very negative experience with this dental practice. Despite advertising themselves as compassionate and patient-centered, we found the dentist we were switched to at the last minute to be dismissive, unprofessional, and unhelpful. We felt like we were treated as just another billable commodity, rather than individuals deserving of empathy and support. While we understand that clinical mistakes may not have been made, we feel that the lack of care and compassion shown to us was just as damaging. We strongly recommend seeking out a different dentist who truly values their patients' wellbeing and emotional needs. Additionally, we were deeply disappointed by the lack of understanding and empathy shown by the dentist we saw. Despite our clear request for a trauma-informed dentist, we were switched to a different dentist on the spot, and our concerns about our previous negative experiences with dentists were dismissed. Instead, the dentist seemed more interested in protecting the reputation of a colleague they didn't even know, rather than prioritizing our wellbeing and emotional needs. We felt invalidated and unheard, and would not recommend this dentist to anyone seeking compassionate, patient-centered care. To add insult to injury, when I expressed my emotional distress and the need for a dentist who understands complex PTSD, the dentist simply suggested that I seek medication from a medical professional. This lack of understanding and empathy only served to further invalidate my experiences and made me feel even more alone and unheard. I would caution anyone seeking trauma-informed care to avoid this dental practice, as they clearly do not prioritize the emotional wellbeing of their patients. While this dentist may be knowledgeable on the clinical side of dentistry, their lack of compassion and understanding towards patients' emotional needs cannot be overlooked.
