I am sharing this review with some hesitation, as I genuinely value quality dental care and believe in recognizing effort where it is due. However, my overall experience at DDS left me dissatisfied. First, the cost of care was significantly higher than I anticipated, even with dental benefits. My out-of-pocket expenses were substantial, and I did not feel that the financial transparency or value aligned with what was ultimately delivered. Dental care is an investment, and while I expect to pay for quality, I also expect clarity and fairness in billing. Additionally, I had a particularly frustrating experience when replacing a three-part bridge. It required three separate attempts before the lab was able to produce a bridge that fit properly. Multiple fittings, additional appointments, and the extended timeline were both inconvenient and discouraging. While I understand that complex dental work can require adjustments, three attempts suggests a lack of quality control from the lab or coordination within the process. I do want to acknowledge that Dr. Hembold was kind, gentle, and appeared to genuinely try her best to assist throughout the process. Her demeanor was professional and compassionate. Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Hernandez was markedly different. I found his approach to be less personable and, at times, somewhat arrogant. I felt there was a stronger emphasis placed on cosmetic considerations rather than focusing on resolving the functional dental concerns that initially brought me in. That dynamic left me feeling unheard. Overall, while there were individual positives, the high out-of-pocket costs combined with the prolonged bridge replacement process and inconsistent provider experiences make it difficult for me to recommend this office. I hope this feedback is received constructively and leads to improvements for future patients. I am no longer a patient at DDS with a Smile and found a dentist that I am happier with.

As dental care is a significant investment in your health, I can positively recommend DDS With A Smile to anyone in need of minor, major or routine treatment. I had previously (under a different dental practice), dealt with an unsuccessful course of Invisalign treatment. After 2 years my bite had deteriorated to the point that chewing was not effectively breaking down foods. Then fortunately I came under the evaluation and treatment of both Dr Helmbold and Dr Fernandez. For over 10 years, at my pace, they have been working to fix my dental issues. Multiple crowns were replaced, with particular attention optimizing the tooth-gum border margin - allowing a smooth cohesive fit and preventing further decay intrusion. They stressed the correlation between proper tooth contact, food maceration, nutrient absorption and good health -especially as you age. I am no stranger to the dental chair and over the many hours spent in it I have had a lot of time to let my mind wander into various corners. The care Dr Fernandez took restoring my bite via many precise sculptural peak and valley tooth carving adjustments-elevated crowns to mouth jewels! It was a refining process of perfection and determination. Another occasion they fixed a receding area with a gum graft. I was fascinated that blood components drawn from my arm in combination with other dental materials would form a matrix for reconstructive tissue growth. This micro-surgical technique shortens the normal healing time of a palatal tissue graft. Adapting and configuring teeth for shifting spaces was complicated, but I felt my case was given the detailed attention and patience one could hope for. They corrected a huge issue I would have suffered with had I not found them. I am glad that through numerous bite adjustments and crown replacements, my teeth became fully functional again. I believe these dentists keep current with frequent technical advancements in dentistry and bring accuracy and precision to their art. I appreciate they may collaborate on difficult cases and essentially, I have access to two experienced experts if needed! The entire team including reception, hygienists and assistants are kind, thoughtful and accommodating. I never feel rushed. The hygienist is thorough and educational in her approach. It is apparent she cares not only about your health but perfecting her skill as well. The assistants are attentive, knowledgeable and efficiently bring competence to their supportive rolls, keeping up with increased responsibilities and changes in the field. The dentists encourage staff to participate in improving their abilities, strongly motivating and educating on best practices while demonstrating perfection. Those handling my oral treatment use a gentle approach and take total care to make my experience pain free- which I truly appreciate! They exemplify the EXCEL - in excellent!

I have been a patient at DDS With a Smile for many years, and I can confidently recommend their services to anyone in need of a dentist. Both Dr. Fernandez and Dr. Helmbold have provided care for me personally and have always done an excellent job. They take the time to talk with you and make sure everything feels right before you leave the office, which I truly appreciate. I also have my teeth cleaned regularly at DDS With a Smile, and the dental hygienists are both thorough and gentle. Their attention to detail and care make every visit a positive experience.

DDS with a Smile is truly the best dental office I’ve ever been to!! You can tell they genuinely care about their patients. I always feel completely comfortable and never rushed. The staff is kind and welcoming, and the whole experience is calm and positive. Melissa takes care of my cleaning. She is so gentle, thorough, and knowledgeable. She always takes the time to explain everything and makes sure I understand what’s going on. Additionally, the same can be said for Robby. I recently had a chipped front tooth that he repaired, and the result is amazing — it looks completely natural! I’m so grateful to have found a dentist I can actually look forward to!

I am extremely satisfied with the cleaning and overall service I received. The level of care is exceptional, the staff is highly professional, and the office is impeccably clean. The entire team is very professional, and all of their equipment and tools are of excellent quality. My daughter and I have been patients of this dental practice, and we are consistently impressed with the quality of care provided.
