I needed a root canal retreatment. The staff and Dr. Okang were all wonderful! Everyone was so nice and explained everything as we were going through the process. As we got into the procedure, Dr. Okang realized a retreatment was not going to be the best fix for my tooth. He stopped the procedure and explained that it would be better for me to have my tooth pulled, and an implant done. He explained that he could do the retreatment, but I would probably be back in 11 months or so to have to have it done again. He gave me the option of what I wanted to do. I appreciated his honesty so much! He could have finished the retreatment and charged me for it, knowing that it was not the best thing for me. Instead he told me the truth and pointed me in the direction that I needed to go. I would recommend Dr. Okang and his staff to anyone. Not only are they honest and do what’s best for their patients, but they are super nice and helpful.
In July I had a root canal done at Blue Ridge Endodontics. Apparently, the customer service representative did not know how to file a pre-authorization with the insurance company because after signing an estimate for the agreed-upon amount, roughly $650, I had the procedure done. Unfortunately when I checked out they informed me they made a mistake checking my insurance and I owed an additional $770 somehow. Worst of all, the work they did resulted in a malpractice suit since the doctor cemented my temporary crown to my underlying tooth, resulting in its fracture and subsequently a failure of three separate crown attempts. Now I will have to have the tooth extracted and attempt an implant. I also lost my sense of taste immediately following this procedure and it has not come back yet as a result of chronic inflammation and instability of that tooth. I am a disabled veteran and a full-time student. My wife and I were barely able to afford the original amount and for them to expect twice that after the work was already done was shocking. While I am sure it was not an intentional bait and switch, the fault is surely on their staff and instead of acknowledging this, the manager called and became verbally intimidating at which point she sent me to collections rather than apologize for the pain and suffering. I have managed several hospitals and have dealt with clients who simply refuse to pay and will blame my doctors frivolously, but this was clearly malpractice and if they had any conscience whatsoever they would have simply apologized and written off the debt. Now I will see them in small claims court. Avoid at all costs! Even if you get everything in writing they can apparently just charge you double when you get out of the procedure. I have attached a photo of the fractured tooth embedded in the temporary crown as a result of their negligence.
Initially I was shocked at the prices of the consultation and services that I needed, but after having the work done I can honestly say that it was all money well spent!! I have had an enormous amount of dental work done in my life and these folks were hands down and far and away the BEST professionals that I have ever been blessed to have work on me!! Everyone and everything here is top-notch, quality beyond comparison, I wish they could be my regular dentist, OMG, what an experience. Seriously, these people ARE AWESOME!!!
This Endodontist and all of the support personnel are the most professional and friendliest that I have ever experienced! The office account assistant manager Mallorie greeted me very friendly and carefully took my information. She put my mind at ease when explaining what procedure to be done in simple terms that I could understand. The X-Ray technician was extremely sweet and patient which gave me a good sense of confidence that she knew what she was doing. Dr. Sharma explained everything in a professional and caring way. She didn’t try to "sell" me on unnecessary procedures which gave me confidence she was being honest with me and I am very happy she was the Doctor overseeing my procedure. I happily recommend this Endodontist office and when I need another procedure done, I will not hesitate going to them!
Professional, caring, and for me, it was pain free. I have anxiety with dental procedures, but a short time through, the doctor's confident work made me happy and relieved. I'm super happy with their work and easily recommend them!
I was referred to Blue Ridge Endodontics for a root canal, I came in and filled out my paperwork that the nice young lady dressed in scrubs and very professional help me so , I went to put my portion of the bill on my credit card and I didn’t realize there was a fee so , I ask the front receptionist if , I could write a check and the other lady that was sitting to the left of the very nice and professional looking receptionist in the scrubs, was very UNPROFESSIONAL because she was dressed very unprofessional and spoke to the receptionist, who was going out of her way to help me , she was making remarks to the front receptionist that was very unnecessary. I could tell that the front receptionist was very embarrassed and her face turned very blushed. If this lady in the office does this in front of customers, what do you think she goes through when no one is around???? Blue Ridge Endodontics , receptionist can make you a good business but , it can also turn you into a bad business so, if I were you I would be doing some changes! But, Kathy and Dr.Sharma was absolutely 💯 AMAZING! Good team work!!!!! Thank you
Getting a root canal is not a fun experience nor is it pleasant in any way, but when necessary, this was a good experience for me from the moment I made the reservation to having the root canal today. Divya Sharma, DMD, MSD is well qualified and amazing and was extremely comforting and assuring throughout the whole entire surgery. I would highly recommend this office for anyone who’s considering a root canal or any other type of dental surgery.
