I took my 3-year-old daughter to Dental Smiles today for her cleaning, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. From the moment we walked in, the staff was friendly, patient, and incredibly welcoming. They made sure she felt comfortable and safe, which means everything when it comes to pediatric dental visits. The hygienist took her time explaining each step in a way my daughter could understand, letting her see the tools and making it feel fun rather than scary. The dentist was gentle, upbeat, and reassuring—checking her teeth thoroughly while keeping her engaged and smiling. As a parent, I truly appreciated how they moved at her pace, celebrated her bravery, and created such a positive atmosphere. My daughter left excited and proud of herself, which is exactly the kind of experience you hope for at this age. I highly recommend Dental Smiles for anyone looking for a kind, patient, and kid-friendly dental office. We’ll definitely be returning!

researched a few dentist offices in the area (recently moved here a few weeks ago), and I found this one. I contacted them about a chipped tooth and sensitivity and they reached back out quickly! Within 24 hours, I was scheduled for an appointment the following day (this may not always be the case, but I’m thankful). When I arrived, the staff was so sweet and inviting. The check-in process was smooth and I wasn’t in the lobby long. I was able to get my x rays done, discuss my treatment plan, and get a small procedure done all in the same day. I had bad anxiety due to past experiences, but they talked with me about what I would be getting done, how long it would take, and even let me know that if I needed to stop all I had to do was raise my hand. Everything went well and I was glad to be in the hands of such great people!

I can’t say enough great things about this dentist office!! We are new here and we have never had a great dental experience as the one here! They were very welcoming, the staff were super nice and explained everything they were doing to my children’s teeth! We are excited we have finally found a practice that actually cares about the patient experience! And Dr.Hewitt was Amazing!!!

Always a great experience, and I hate going to the dentist so this says a lot. This office considers the details (tv option, blanket, beverages) that make your visit more pleasant. Staff is the best in Raleigh!!

All the staff at Dental Smiles of NC Raleigh were so friendly, from the office assistant, the dental assistant, the dentist & the dental hygienist. I had been in pain for 2 days, not sure what was going on with a couple of my teeth. I called & they were able to get me in the next day. They were very thorough in figuring out what was going on & now we have a plan to take care of my issues. Highly recommend this dental office. I had a follow up appointment after my deep cleaning to have some fillings for some small cavities found at my deep cleaning. Once again, everyone from Jasmine at reception, the dental hygienist that assisted Dr. Hewitt & Dr. Hewitt himself were all GREAT!! They all took wonderful care of me. Luckily, the cavities were small & didn't require any numbing because I had an appointment for blood work/labs later the same afternoon. Thank you Dental Smiles!! Back for one more followup cleaning with Stacey after a deep cleaning & fillings. I wish this dental team was in my home town. I found them while attending school in Raleigh but now I'm done. Raleigh is fortunate to have this Dental Smiles!! Once again, I highly recommend them 🙂

I came to this dentist because they accepted my insurance and I had just moved to Raleigh, but I was very disappointed from the start due to the unfriendliness of my dental hygienist. She was cold and detached. After taking X-rays, I was told that my mouth had too much plaque and tartar for them to complete a cleaning within the remaining time of the appointment — even though I had only been there for about twenty minutes. Then, I was told I had not one, not two, but nine cavities. I was shocked and asked how that could be possible, considering I had visited my previous dentist just six months earlier and received a perfect report. I brush my teeth more than twice a day, avoid sugary foods and drinks, and have never experienced any pain or sensitivity. My teeth have always been in great shape. The hygienist offered little explanation or reassurance, which left me feeling confused, embarrassed, and anxious. To make matters worse, I was suddenly probed quite aggressively — without warning — which seemed odd given that there supposedly wasn’t enough time for a cleaning but somehow there was time for that. The appointment ended abruptly, and I was handed a list of dates to schedule nine fillings, along with a rescheduled cleaning. I was also given a bill for over $2,000 in dental work. At that point, I became very skeptical. This was my first visit to the office, and I had never had such a negative dental experience. I decided to schedule a second opinion with my previous dentist in Raleigh (whom I had stopped seeing only because they no longer accepted my insurance). I figured it would be worth paying out of pocket for the quality care I had always received there. When I went to that appointment the very next day, I was warmly welcomed by friendly hygienists and dentists. They complimented me on my oral hygiene and confirmed that I had no cavities at all. All that to say — if you have Medicaid or full-coverage insurance, I would strongly advise caution with this practice. It seems they may take advantage of patients who rely on that coverage. I shudder to think what would have happened if I had gone through with those nine unnecessary fillings. However, I highly recommend O2 Dental Group!!!
