Gentle Dental Rio Vista

Dr. Garber and the staff at Gentle Dental Rio Vista were amazing! Everyone was so warm and friendly! I was there for a root canal so I was a little nervous about the procedure. Every detail was handled professionally and I was impressed with the fact that I felt no pain during the numbing process. Other dental offices need to take some tips from Dr. Garber! I would have given 5 stars if they had given me written aftercare instructions. There was simply too much information to remember that was verbally relayed to me from the dental tech and I forgot half of it before leaving the office. I'd like to thank Dr. Stuart Garber and his amazing staff for taking care of me at my endodontist appointment this morning. Dr. Garber, Maria (dental technician) and Amy (office manager) are always efficient and extremely pleasant. It's apparent they prioritize the needs of their patients through their flawless and excellent service. I have been to a few Gentle Dental locations over the years however this was my first time at the Rio Vista location (a more convenient and direct location for me as I commute from Sedona). I can always rely on Gental Dental for any of my dental needs.

Beware, Gentle Dentle is under new management and they do not deserve any of the positive reviews from the past. I have had quite a few bad experiences there, but one of the worst was the time my 7 year old son had to go in for an extraction that was ordered by the Orthodontist. After going through all of the anesthetics with needles and all numb, we were told by the dentist that the orthodontist told him to pull the wrong tooth and that he couldn't do it. On our way out of the office with my son's mouth numb, they stopped us and said they realized they made a mistake and they figured out to correct tooth that needed to be pulled... Secondly, they are thieves. After charging me for a treatment plan for myself and not following through with the results. They continued to charge me for lab fees for my next sets of Invisalign. The last time, they charged me twice for two sets to finish my treatment plan. I was given 14 trays and told to schedule an appointment at the end for scans for my next trays. After my last scan they called me a couple days prior to my appointment to tell me my contract had been canceled due to non-compliance, making fraudulent claims, and that I would have to pay an additional $5,000.00 to continue. I am now stuck with the appliances on my teeth and them telling me I have to pay extra for removal and the retainers that I paid for originally. Please do yourself a favor and find any other practice. I would like to point out that the new Orthodontist is a really great guy. But the practice he works works for will make the experience a nightmare.

I had a very uncomfortable experience at this dental office and unfortunately cannot recommend it. I have significant anxiety with medical settings and usually have my wife with me for support. As soon as we asked if she could be present, the nurse became noticeably rude and dismissive, simply saying it was "against their policy" with a tone that made us feel like we were being a problem rather than asking for a basic accommodation. The front desk staff were equally condescending. When I started having a panic attack and had to leave the room to use the restroom, they brushed it off, told me I was "fine," and suggested I just sit down and take a deep breath. My wife tried to express concern as well, and they completely disregarded both of us. At no point did anyone ask if I needed a moment, a private space, or any actual support. The dental exam itself was the quickest I’ve ever had, to the point where I’m not confident in the accuracy of what I was told. The doctor was in and out so fast that it barely felt like an actual evaluation. Overall, the experience felt rushed, dismissive, and insensitive—especially for anyone who struggles with anxiety. I left feeling worse than when I arrived, and I will not be returning.

Went in for my annual x-rays and CLEANING only to be met with a $1900 bill. They wanted me to sign before I ever walked into the room. They said they don't do annual cleanings like that until after the doctor looks at patients however they already had a full Order of client procedures they were doing and wanted me to sign for that my insurance was not going to cover. These people are not professional and had to do multiple xrays in same spot due to lack of experience with machine. When they had me standing for the full xray I had to tell her to raise it because I am almost 6 ft tall and my shoulders wouldn't fit under. Do not go here! They will scam you into thinking you need work you don't need! My insurance covers an annual cleaning and x-rays. But they said they don't do that.

My procedure went smoothly. Phoebe is a very nice and knowledgeable Tech! Selena is always great! Just another great visit to the dentist!

Don’t even go to this office, I repeat don’t go here. They are a bunch of liars, starting with the manager Amy and Jazmine the receptionist that leave you on hold then hangs up on you. Never had I ever had such terrible experiences before. Once they get your money, they don’t care about you. My husband had his teeth removed and they quoted him a price on his first visit and then they said that everything that is being done was not included in his package. We are still making instalment payments and the work wasn’t finished. He had his surgery done in July and I am still receiving statements from my insurance company stating they need additional information in order to process the claim. Here we are in December and they still have not received the information. 7 letters later and nothing. Save yourself a headache and do not go here. They are terrible! Irma Mitchell
