Platinum Dental of South Ogden

My experience at this office has been incredibly disappointing. I had several implants done, and they had to be redone multiple times. Even after the repeat visits, I’m still dealing with ongoing issues and discomfort. For the amount I paid, I expected a much higher level of care and more reliable results. On top of that, my insurance expired during the process because the office took so long to get my crown in—despite knowing the timeline I needed. As a result, I now have to pay out of pocket for visits that are not cheap. I've have a few times where they have messed up my insurance making me over pay. The manager also has clear anger issues, and despite all the problems I’ve faced, I was offered no apology, credit, or attempt to make things right. Overall, the process has been stressful, time-consuming, and far below the quality I expected. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this office. They come across as more money-focused than patient-focused. The amount I’ve paid is outrageous for the results I’ve received. Save yourself the trouble and go somewhere else.

I normally go to the Platinum Dental in Cache Valley (where I live), but apparently their orthodontist works in multiple offices, so I was sent to the Ogden office (this office) for an ortho appointment. The office is an hour drive from where I live, but if this is where I needed to go for my ortho appointment, I agreed to do it. My appointment was at 1pm, so they had plenty of time to notify me in the morning of any issues with my appointment. I got the time off work and made the hour-long drive to this Ogden office for my appointment. When I arrived, they told me my appointment had been cancelled and removed from the schedule, and no one bothered to notify me. Not the day before, not the morning of, not while I was making my hour-long drive to Ogden. I just LOVE getting time off work and making hour-long drives for no reason, as I’m sure any of us would. If this is the experience you want to have, then by all means, go to this office. If not, steer well away from this place.

Cleaning was well performed and gentle in nature. X-Rays took two attempts to be successful. Proposed treatment plan was well explained and documented.

I brought my kids here as they work with my dental insurance. The front desk workers were rude both times we went there. At our final appointment, my son was left to wait in a chair for 30 minutes past his appointment time while the dentist had a conversation with another patient. I asked them to remove my kids as clients. I will never go back. Horrible service, would give them zero stars if it was an option.

I had been using Dr. Smyth for a couple of years. She is a great dentist, however her billing staff is horrible. The bill her as out of network, then refill as in network. I have been fighting for 5 months now to get a bill straightened out because of their billing error. I continue to get notices to pay the bill when the insurance says it’s paid and I owe nothing. It has been 2 weeks, claim they have left messages for their billing person and I’ve yet to hear back. I refuse to go back to her because of her billing people. Wish she would read this and see she may be losing people because of billing. Sorry to have to write this but this is terrible.

Made me feel comfortable and set up a dental plan that makes sense to me. They have a team of specialists to where I feel I get get all my work and concerns looked at in one place.

1000/10 recommend this office. My teeth are definitely not in great condition whatsoever. I went in fully prepared to be shamed by the staff after recent consults with a different dental provider. It was the complete opposite the staff here are honestly so amazing. They were so kind to me. The assistant that did my x-rays was amazing and made sure she addressed painful and concerning teeth. Dr.Smyth is the best dentist I have ever met. She thoroughly went over treatment plan options with me. Rochelle was so sweet and helped me review the treatment plan. Explained what insurance would cover and what I would be responsible for. I absolutely loved the staff and am so excited to continue my treatment plan. I genuinely wish I could leave more stars because this office is overall just phenomenal.
