Parktown Dental Care Mountain View

I had my filling done on November 7, 2024, and Dr. Ramirez and Assistant Melissa did a superb job. Kudos to them! However, be aware: DO NOT GO THERE AS THEY DO NOT TAKE NEW PATIENTS FOR 2 MONTHS. My mom initially had her first visit scheduled for November 8, 2024, but shortly afterward, we were informed by phone that, due to being "short-staffed," they could not take new patients for at least two months. When I inquired about this during my own visit today, the receptionist confirmed the same. Interestingly, another woman in the waiting room was hoping to become a new patient. They informed her that her insurance had changed from Medi-Cal to HMO, requiring out-of-pocket payment, and she was gone when I came back from my procedure. If there’s another reason beyond the "short-staffed" explanation for not accepting new patients, it would be better if they were upfront about it. I’ll try again on December 1 to see if my mom can get scheduled, and on January 1, 2025, to follow up. I’ll keep you all posted.

If I can give a zero rate, I would rather prefer 0. The whole staff are terrible. They put down wrong records and questioned the client of making a wrong statements(like when did last check, they put down wrong date but they claimed you said it, it’s in their record). They charged the insurance even if they didn’t do the cleaning. When they ask you to call them, they ask you to wait for more than 20 minutes, and ask you again what’s the problem. The office manager is the most rude person I’ve ever met in my life. Horrible horrible dentists experience. Just don’t go there!!!

I had a really great time at this dental! I came in for the cleaning on the Saturday because of the emergency gum bleeding. The cleaning went really well! They took great care of me. The dentist has a great sense of humor too! Luckily I did not wait for a long time (the receptionist also generous enough to let me know that it might take long as well). So far I had a great experience!

I visited Parktown as a new patient for a routine cleaning and exam, neither of which was done properly - or honestly. First, the woman I took to be a dental hygienist polished my teeth....*before* they had been cleaned. When I asked about this, prior to her doing so, she stated that it "was how she learned in school" and was also the preference of the dentists at Parktown. After this I met my new dentist, who performed a cursory look at my films and in my mouth, then proceeded to clean my teeth himself. This would have been fine, if a bit unorthodox in my experience, but he performed what is typically a 20-30 minute cleaning with a pick with a DRILL, using it obliquely to ablate plaque from my teeth. While this was super-efficient from his practice's point of view, and no doubt allowed him to see triple the patients. it was painful and left jagged edges in my mouth where the plaque was not properly/completely removed. When this concluded, he stated that I had 4 cavities, needed fillings for each, to the tune of $1,700+. Upon leaving his care I immediately scheduled an appointment with my former dentist of 15 years - whom I'd only left for insurance coverage reasons - for a cleaning and exam. The result? A professional, painless cleaning procedure, and an honest exam where it was deemed I had no cavities, and everything looked great. In my opinion it is practices such as Parktown that give dentistry in the US a bad name for being predatory and dishonest. I couldn't recommend this practice any less.

I've been going to Parktown MV for over 10 years and have been very happy up until the past year or so. There's been a complete turnover with employees from the receptionists to the dental assistants — were they all let go or transferred to another office?? The new people are inexperienced and slow. Cleaning used to be quick, 30 minutes in and out, super efficient. My last cleaning took nearly 2 hours total (mostly waiting and the assistant trying to figure out how to take X-rays). And on top of that, the price doubled from my previous cleaning (6 months prior). Now I have to look for a new dentist, or figure out where the previous employees went off to!

They always make you wait around 1 hr in the lobby. Yet they want to charge extra if you’re late. Doctor treats another patient(s) at the same time while trying to treat you. And now I understand, like many others said, that they offer unnecessary treatment to charge insurance companies. I am canceling my other appointments. Don’t come here, seriously.

I had asked for my insurance to be checked prior to the service and was told there was no fee on my cleaning, exam, and xrays, only to be later charged. I recently went to a new office that gave me an accurate estimate, and the total was less for more services. Parktown was xray, cleaning, evaluation whereas my new dentist included everything with the addition of fluoride treatment and gums assessment. At parktown I also waited over an hour (prob about 1.5), whereas my new dentist was within 15 minutes. One of the receptionist is nice and the female dentist was nice, but the rest of the staff I've engaged with were not personable. Definitely don't recommend.
