Gentle Dental Grossmont

I don’t usually write reviews, but I feel this needs to be shared regarding my experience at Gentle Dental in Grossmont Center. I’ve been coming here for quite some time for my braces services. I had a scheduled appointment today at 9:00 a.m., but when I arrived, I was told the orthodontic department wasn’t even in and that my appointment had been rescheduled. The front desk explained that a text message had supposedly been sent notifying me of the change — however, I never received any message or notification. If a patient does not confirm a text appointment change, there should be a direct follow-up call. As a business owner myself, I know how important it is to make sure clients are properly notified when schedules change. Relying on a single unconfirmed text message is not enough when people are planning their time and travel around appointments. I also asked to speak with the person in charge, Estevan, regarding the issue. I was told to wait a few minutes, but after waiting about 5–10 minutes, no one came to address the situation. That added to the frustration, as I was hoping to resolve the matter directly and professionally. I will finish out my remaining treatment here since I’ve already started, but after that I will not be returning to this location. I would recommend that others consider a different facility. Appointment communication and accountability need improvement at this office. I don’t enjoy leaving negative reviews, but I believe situations like this should be brought to attention so they can be corrected.

Outstanding Dental care was provided. The staff are truly amazing in every aspect of my Dental care. My Dentist and Dental Aide are the very Best of the Best. The front desk people are all friendly, prompt and professional. Flexed the focus of the appointment on the spot from filling to bridge. My mom has difficulty communicating and they remained patient and encouraging, even though she accidentally bit them and opened during the bite impression a couple times... Dr. Alo and Diane were great! The whole support staff was friendly and accomodating. Temporary bridge is working great! Thank you!!!

They squeezed me in and I’m so grateful. On Christmas, an onlay of one of my teeth dislodged. I have a new job and new insurance and hadn’t yet found my new dentist. Finding an open dental office with available appointments was challenging. I was so scared to try a new dentist but it was urgent. They got me in and wow. They were the sweetest, most efficient dental crew I’ve ever had. I highly recommend this dental group. They explained everything very well. Great job, Gentle Dental team!

This was my first experience with Gentle Dental of Grossmont La Mesa. It went very well and I look forward to seeing the entire team here soon for my next visit. The on-boarding questionnaire was very extensive, but understandably so for all new patients such as myself. The team did a great job and I thank them for their professional expertise.

I sent them 2 emails to discuss this and had no response so far. Very disappointed. First, I had to fill out the pre check in forms three times as their system didn’t save the information. Then, they refused to do a regular cleaning (covered by insurance) but offered me a different treatment that was $200+. Then they said I have cavities and that my insurance don’t cover fillings, but later I found out this was false. The dentist only offered me the expensive non-covered fillings, telling me I had no other options. In the end, I left with a quote of almost $400 for a visit that was supposed to be fully covered by insurance. I went to get a second opinion and all is good! Seems like this office only wants to get money from patients, and not actually help them. I’d recommend to find some other place for your dental health.
