I love Iowa City Family Dentistry - Dr. Thompson, Jessica, and Gayle have been amazing to me since I started seeing them a few years ago. (No experience with other staff but I’m sure they are just as wonderful!) At previous clinics (not in IC), I’ve had really awful experiences with unprofessional teams, and it stopped me from visiting the dentist for a few years because I was scared & nervous to have that happen again. Eventually, I was willing to give it another try; after looking around at my options, I chose Iowa City Family Dentistry for its size and location. I continue to choose them thanks to the respect and care they show to me as a patient.

Iowa City Family Dentist reminds me of my childhood. It’s like when you were a kid, and you were nervous about going to see the dentist, but then the same receptionist you see each 6 months smiles at you, and you know she’s about to hand you a sticker and let you pick the color of tooth brush you want, for being so brave! Then you go to the back and the dentist you were so nervous about actually has a kind and lighthearted personality! You start to feel more relaxed because you can feel that they genuinely care about you and how you are feeling! You slowly become more at ease because they are paying such well attention to you, that they stop the moment you even blink too quick, to make sure you are feeling safe, at ease, and not in pain? This is the vibe Iowa City Family Dentist has! They are family owned, locally run, and the most genuine people ever! I personally didn’t go to the dentist for 10 years because of my anxiety, and since I found IC Family Dentist, I’ve got every 6-months on the dot, because I know I’ll be cared for like family! If you are anxious about the dentist even a little, please know, that as someone who had severe anxiety over it, this dentist is 100% for you!

Dr. Thompson and his team are absolutely amazing, and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for dental care in Iowa City. They’re always punctual, friendly, and professional. Gayle meets everyone with a smile and each of the hygienists care about the work that they do.

Best Dental Office in Iowa City hands down. Dr. Thompson and his staff provide excellent and efficient dental care. They are always friendly and go out of their way to make sure you get the care you need. On one of my first visits, I got very lightheaded (nerves sometimes get me during medical work) and they ran to a store to get me a something to drink mid procedure. You won’t find this kind this kind of service anywhere else. They provide you the exact service you need and are always helpful. Cannot recommend enough.

Love the office and atmosphere! My whole family enjoys the experience. I have sensitive teeth and they take their time so I am comfortable. My kids look forward to going and having their teeth cleaned and getting their new tooth brushes! Gayle is always helpful at the front desk and so welcoming! Highly recommend!

I've had multiple different dental issues and I have to say Dr. Thompson and his staff are kind, patient and understanding. I have always had good experiences and outcomes. I do definitely recommend. They are professional ad do a great job.

Dr. Thompson and his assistants all make you feel welcome and at ease. The atmosphere is friendly. Dr. Thompson is open with his discussions and decisions and he is not a reactive dentist in that he does not do something if it is not necessary. I have always felt comfortable at Iowa City Family Dentistry. You will too!
