I had my first appointment at this dental office at 8 a.m. When I arrived, I was told that the doctor wouldn’t be in until 9 a.m., and I would need to wait. They mentioned doing x-rays in the meantime, but I decided to leave since the whole situation felt mismanaged. Very disappointing experience and waste of time

I came in for my yearly exam & cleaning. Was advised I needed a deep cleaning after sitting in a chair about 40 min. Quoted me $260.00. I asked for my regular cleaning and they would not do it per the Dr. I guess they do not want to keep customer happy. The insurance covers a regular cleaning. I will be going elsewhere where they take care of the customer.

I just had a wonderful experience at my appointment as soon as you walk in you are greeted with the front office staff really professional a nice office. Well taken care of. Everyone was great very friendly. Very professional dentist was very informative. Had a great experience.

Today had a very rude Dental Hygienist (not Dentist) inform me that "due to my poor dental hygiene" my visits to this dental office should be on a more frequent basis instead of 6 months s/b every 3 months as previously prescribed. This comment was made due to my visit today, being delayed by 9 months, resulting from a stye which appeared in my left eye and supposedly my flossing and usage of the water pic are inconsistent. Also, I refused a $75 fluoride rinse treatment (basically "Listerine diluted"), which I did pay for 9 months prior. My response was I brush 3x a day. Due to my age (65) have been going to a dentist for approximately the past 60 years (2x per year) have had several crowns, fillings, had braces, teeth extraction and don’t have any dentures or bridges. He could see all this on the X-rays, which he did comment on. Hmmm poor dental hygiene, don’t think. In addition, he mentioned sternly, my treatment should be every 3 months due to my jaw bone loss, which I replied it might be due to the fact that recently (1 month prior) a Bone Density exam revealed a severe case of Osteoporosis. He stated " that had no impact on my jaw bone since Osteoporosis impacts the lower half of the body" !!! So guess my cranium and mandible are not part of the skeletal system??? In fact, according to an online article by my dental insurance carrier, the following was noted "….Osteoporosis can lead to jaw bone loss by weakening the bone density, which may result in tooth loss and gum disease. Dentists can often detect early signs of osteoporosis through dental x-rays and clinical exams, as changes in jawbone density may indicate the disease's progression". Therefore will not recommend this dental office due to this visit and a prior visit with my 91 year old mother which is just as long of a comment as this one. Great experience young man was gentle, pleasant, and reassuring during my teeth cleaning.

My first interaction with Downey Dental was over 5 yrs ago when my Dad needed a root canal and no one would do it because he had cancer. This office took great care of my Dad. And now my Mom just finished her Dental journey and it makes me so happy to see how kind, patient and professional they are with her as well. Dr. Verdugo is wonderful.
