I (42 year old) went to get a tuneup from my childhood work and decided to do a bit more to set myself up for the second half of my life. Dr. Michael Sunwoo is extremely engaged. If he had been my Orthodontist when I was young, I suspect my outcome would have been better 25 years ago. He explains everything in detail as does his staff. I get to see him working with his normal (younger) patents when I visit. He is extremely patient and is clearly working toward the best possible outcome. What I appreciated most was his honestly regarding what treatment I should select. I wanted the best possible outcome and he took his time to explain metal and ceramic braces as well as Invisalign options. For my tolerances, classic metal braces were the best choice. I also suggest you consider them even if older. If you are honest with Dr. Sunwoo, he will give you the opportunity to make the best choice for you. He also treats you like an adult (I am an adult so that is great). I secretly think he is happy to have someone to talk to for a moment throughout the day that is closer to his age. 5 years later at 48, I am still wearing my retainer and my teeth look great and are in awesome shape. We moved, so I am sad that my son is having his teeth adjusted in Ohio. But the lessons I learned from Michael were a big help.

Made an appointment with Dr. Sunwoo for my daughter based on my co workers referral and glad i went! You could tell that Dr. Sunwoo was really one of those genuine "nice" guys and was very patient explaining all the options (multiple times) and really went the extra mile to make sure my daughter was comfortable. Overall his staff was very prompt, courteous, and patient. Definitely will be going to him for all my kids and maybe my ortho needs. :o)

I am an adult and have a little bit teeth problem, not very bad and I want to make it look better. I visited here as well as other orthodontics for what I can do. While other doctors gave me a full set of proposals, I really appreciate Dr. Sunwoo being super honest with me. He told me even though it is not the best look, but it's healthy and working fine. Having my situation (I have lost teeth and bridge, etc), over do it might cause more severe consequences. Even though it can be addressed in other way, it doesn't worth it. Consider about the pros and cons, he doesn't think I should do anything unless my situation changes in the future. I really appreciate the professional suggestions and the honesty from Dr. Sunwoo. He didn't just think about getting new customers and making money. He is actually considering what is the best for the patients. I would definitely bring my kids here when they need.

This is as good as it gets! I had consulted with 4 other popular south bay orthodontists, for my son and myself, before confidently choosing to work with the team at this office. I was particularly impressed with how thorough my consultation was at this office compared to the others. Most importantly, Dr. Lee was the only doctor who spent substantial time with me, clearly detailing his recommended treatment, why and how he would proceed, even referencing a couple of recent articles from a professional orthodontic journal that he had just read that perfectly related to my specific issues. Dr. Lee also carefully and completely communicated his expectations for the final result. I am 19 months into the estimated 18-24 time period and have never for a moment doubted my choice. I have the utmost respect and trust in this team. Dr. Sunwoo recently joined the team and is proving to be a great fit. At every level, each person in this office has a lot of heart, is extremely knowledgable and professional.

I recently got my braces done here, and I must say that the nurses and Dr. Sunwoo are very kind. Dr Sunwoo was kind enough to play some of my favorite songs during the process of getting my braces. I noticed how all the staff greeted me with smiles and made me feel comfortable around them. Overall, I am looking forward into my journey with my braces with South Bay Orthodontic . 🙂

From the front office staff to the dental chair - Dr. Sunwoo and his staff provided me a five-star experience in my Invisalign journey. Their two locations granted me a lot of flexibility in scheduling. I highly recommend South Bay Orthodontics to both adults and parents for their kids.
