Delta Dental of Wyoming

As many of you may not know, Delta Dental of Wyoming is not really accepted by many, if not all, the dentists in this particular area of the state, NE corner. I paid $100/mo for my family, had one preventive trip for myself and approximately $82 was covered and I stood the rest of the nearly $600 bill. I would do your own research before purchasing a policy. Because of this, I mailed (via USPO) a termination of coverage letter to them (Delta Dental) in November, as required by their own policy, asking my insurance coverage be terminated effective 12/31/25. This was not honored and I was changed for another month, January 2026. I have again, written yet another request for termination letter and asked that the January withdrawal be refunded. I guess it remains to be seen how that turns out.

I was expecting some sort of notification that my police would end when I left my employer. Instead it lapsed with no notice. Now I must start my waiting period over again even if I choose to continue coverage. I expected a notification that would allow me the choice to continue coverage without it lapsing. Growing concerned I reached out to them and was told it was one day late and there was nothing I could do but start over…. Terrible service and no compassion.

Completely incompetent staff. I had an expensive procedure coming up and asked the dental office to send in a preauthorization so I would know exactly what I'm look at financially. I have a secondary, so after Delta it would need to be sent off to my other insurance. I stood at the counter and watched them send the info to them before I left. I scheduled my appointment for 6 weeks out so it would have time to be looked at by both companies. 30 days later, I still hadn't received anything in the mail so I called to find out what the hold up was. I was told "we haven't received anything from the dental clinic." I promptly called the dental clinic and they called Delta and they had received part of it but didn't get it put together with the electronic authorization or some excuse like that. Thanks to their inability to do their job, I had to postpone my appointment another month so I can get both pre-auths back before I have treatment. Hopefully no further issues will arise with the tooth before then.

Delta Dental of Woming is HORRIBLE, not only the fact that they have made sure they are the ONLY game in town, but also by making sure they force their participating dentists to place EVERYONE of a certain age into "Periodontal Maintenance" so they can scam more $$$ from the insured!!! Ive called their office and recieved nothing BUT rude condescending responses. I am LOCKED into paying $300 a year for worthless "preventive" dental care I cannot use, because of some Quid Pro Quo they have with the State Of Wyoming Employee benefits manager. Evidently they decided to FORCE all Wyoming State Employees to have Delta Dental of Wyoming at the tune of $25 + a month NO CHOICE just have to pay it ! I've filed complaints with the Wyoming Insurance board and surprise surprise they started speaking about Deltal Dental employees by their first NAMES! So I guess it's all just a cozy little club !!!! I urge everyone make a complaint with the Wyoming Insurance Board AND the Attorney General of Wyoming ! It's really easy form to fill out and can have REAL impact in getting this insurance company to fly right !

Customer Service at Delta is excellent. I'm always impressed that a real person answers the phone instead of an automated system. Thanks for almost 20 years of fine service for us at Brook Trout Dental!

I have a dental appointment for Tuesday and they just notified me that I am registered with a different Delta dental location from years ago and that I have to request that they delete the registration. Aaagh! Why can't they have just termed me in the other state like medical insurance. I am not happy. I work days and just can't take off when insurance can't get their act together.

Inept. Don't count on getting a reimbursement check .almost a month I called needing my reimbursement.. for more dental work that was scheduled. They have no way of over night mail .cannot fed x .. they have no ideas when new check will be issued. Absolutely the worst customer service I've received. So I called that number and my initial assessment was correct.
