Customer Reviews
Smile Haus Austin has a rating of 4.9 out of 5 based on over 314 reviews on Google
Everyone I interacted with was great. The dental hygienist Lizeth not only did an excellent job of checking for signs of gingivtis as well as a thoroughly removing plaque and tarter, but in addition she with was friendly. The dentist Ida also was quite friendly and from everything I observed she too appears to did excellent work. Finally, the office manager Valerie, also friendly, provided clear and detailed answers to my questions regarding the nature of forthcoming scheduled visits.
The employees here have always been friendly and I've had no major issues. It's a dentist and they clean my teeth. My latest visit had a new hygienist and dentist, both of which I liked. I do feel they sometimes encouraged spending more money than strictly necessary. The previous dentist found cavities in my teeth more often than other dentists I've been to over the years. It's entirely possible I did need fillings, but it felt a little too frequent and my insurance actually said they couldn't bill me for one because they'd just claimed they filled the same tooth 12 months prior. I had to reach out to the office multiple times to get the charge removed from my account. Additionally, when I wanted a new retainer, my only option was to buy 4 (for ~$400), when I only wanted one. I hope to not feel like I'm overpaying going forward.
I recently had my first experience at Smiley Haus Austin, and it was absolutely amazing. The team is incredibly professional and excels at minimizing anxiety. They were always on time and communicated clearly about the purpose of the x-ray and other procedures. Dr. Ida took the time to thoroughly explain everything, provided gentle treatment, and shared valuable tips for aftercare. I can confidently say that I’ve found my dental home for life, and I highly recommend them, especially for those with a low pain tolerance. You won't regret it!
TLTR: After a disappointing experience getting a root canal and crown here I have requested my dental records and the remaining balance in my account. Nobody has cared to reply. I cannot longer recommend this office because the constant changes in doctors and personnel is insane. So if you are looking for a longterm treatment I would look somewhere else. I came here because of the good reviews and the proximity to my workplace but be advised that they pay $25 for giving a positive review. Full story: I have been in pain for years with one particular tooth after this office filled a painless cavity about 2.5 years ago. The filling got cracked after a couple of months. When I came back to treat it there were no doctors available and they sent me to another Smilehaus office. At that time a female doctor whose name I don’t remember filled the cavity again. After that procedure I was having more pain than before. They told me I needed a root canal. I was very disappointed since the original cavity was small to begin with but the second filling was very poorly done and in a rush. I came back for the RC and the crown. They had changed doctors again by that time. Dr. Fern did the RC and then Dr. Saez took care of the crown. After that I was still in pain. Many visits to the office forward and still in pain. Dr. Saez left and Dr. Ida took over. She said I needed a retreatment. And again they sent to another smilehaus office with another doctor (Levo) who also didn’t offer any good explanation on why I was still in pain and offered a retreatment for another $1000+ usd, even though in his opinion the original RC was perfect. After that I left because I couldn’t keep dealing with the situation. Now that Dr. Saez has left I no longer want to be patient of this office. And all I want is my x-rays and remaining balance in my account.
I honestly cannot recommend getting work done here. Like other reviews, I came for cleanings but had the x-rays reveal 3 supposed SMALL cavities. I was assured that the procedure would be quick and painless. I came back to get 3 fillings under anesthetic and can say that they were botched. They left one of my teeth too tall, which then caused me tremendous pain because of the pressure. I went back TWICE to get it adjusted and the pain has just never improved. The doctor said to wait a while and the swelling will go down. Well I’ve tried to be patient and after five or so months my teeth remain sensitive whenever I chew. I’ve never had such a bad experience with dental work, and my teeth have never been this sensitive in my life. I’m disappointed and honestly appalled that my health was jeopardized If they "see cavities" in you, get a second opinion.
I’m so happy to find this place. Every time I’m treated so nicely, and every time my teeth are as clean as possible WITHOUT being a painful and long experience. Both Dentists I have met were kind, communicated clearly, and are not pushy. I genuinely trust them — plus they have a GREAT membership for people without insurance!!!
I've been coming to Smile Haus Austin for several years, and the experience is always great. Nina, Celine and Pablo were fantastic, friendly, personable, and really put me at ease. They're thorough, knowledgeable, and gave me helpful tips for taking better care of my teeth. Everything was smooth and on time, as always. I really appreciate the whole staff!
