I was referred to Dr. Patel’s office by my dental provider for a wisdom tooth extraction and came prepared with my own panoramic X-ray. From the very beginning, the consultation was shockingly unprofessional. Dr. Patel entered the room with a hostile attitude, barely acknowledged me, and performed no actual examination — only a quick glance at my X-ray. She answered questions reluctantly, rolled her eyes, and made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome the entire time. Her appearance was also concerning and inappropriate for a surgical setting — no gown or mask, long hair uncovered, and clothing that looked like pajamas. It did not feel like a professional medical environment. Despite this, I scheduled the extraction because I was in significant pain. That’s when the billing issues began. I was presented with a $150 "materials charge" on my treatment plan with no insurance code and no itemization, supposedly covering "everything on the tray" during surgery. The staff refused to explain what this included. I have never encountered a dental office charging separately for unspecified surgical materials — it felt arbitrary and unjustified. It had dental code 000, which, obviously, is not covered by any insurance. So, just total scam. Then I was told I had to pay half of the total cost upfront just to keep the appointment date, a policy that had never been disclosed when scheduling. This is not standard practice and should have been communicated clearly beforehand. When I calmly asked the doctor for clarification, she became aggressive and confrontational, stating it was "not her problem" and "not her obligation" to explain charges or policies. She spoke to me in an openly hostile manner, suggested I go elsewhere, and refused to refund the consultation fee, which I later needed to fight for to get back. I left the office shaking, extremely distressed, and with my blood pressure elevated. Needless to say, I NEVER CAME BACK. To make matters worse, my insurance later informed me they were billed for an X-ray that was never taken — I had brought my own. I had to dispute the charge. This was, without question, the worst dental office experience I have ever had. I strongly recommend staying away from this practice.
My daughter had PTSD from an anesthesia issue with a previous surgery and Dr. Patel worked with her to make her feel comfortable and safe. She treated my daughter with empathy and has a great bed-side manner (and even called her the day before). The staff are also kind and responsive. The surgery and recovery went well, and my daughter was all smiles at the follow-up appointment (and got to meet Dr. Patel's pet parrot!). Highly recommend using this practice.
The main dentist is really sweet but all in all, the place is unprofessional. Never had an experience like this one. They have no billing department, just one woman that has no number, you’ll have to email her & she responds months later. The staff kept telling me she’s a flight attendant that works part-time which is crazy lol. The billing department is supposed to be available for you, especially when so much money is involved. It took me 6 months to get an issue resolved. The billing woman, Kendall, decided to not send my insurance all of the codes they charged for my procedure but instead try to charge me for two of them. She just assumed my insurance wouldn’t pay for them. It was wild! Why wouldn’t you send the full estimate to my insurance so that they could send me what my out of pocket expense is? Yes, it took 6 months for me to get my refund. Even had to get my insurance to send a complaint. Also, when you call the office, the front desk cannot answer ANY of your questions. They just tell you to write an email. Very unknowledgeable and unhelpful. They don’t even call you back when you request one. I really hope they fix this. For them to want their money up front, they need to have up front professionalism.
I have bad dental anxiety, but Dr. Patel and the rest of the staff made me feel comfortable through the whole process of my wisdom teeth removal. They even worked with me and scheduled my appointment for a day they usually don’t do appointments to help get me in asap. I also highly recommend the PRF (I believe its called), I feel like it helped my recovery so much - I felt better by day 2 than I thought I would, and mostly back to normal after only about 8-10 days.
I went in for a tooth extraction and it was one of the easiest dental experiences of my life. I suffer from extreme dental anxiety, and Dr. Patel and her staff put me completely at ease. They are all incredible and I am glad I found them. Many thanks to Dr. Patel and her entire team.
I went in for 4 wisdom teeth extractions the day before Labor Day weekend and had a terrible experience. I was rushed out and overheard one of the doctors/nurses saying "I’m trying to go home, it’s Labor Day weekend." I paid $1200 (which I have my original invoice and receipt for) and they hooked me up on laughing gas which did not work in the slightest. The worst part that I still have nightmares about to this day, was when the doctor/nurses, held me down and PAINFULLY injected the numbing injection into my gums. These injections were so unbearably painful, after the first one, I stopped the doctor and told her it was painful and I needed more numbing gel/laughing gas. They obliged for 0.2 seconds and proceeded with the injections again, causing me to quite literally begin sobbing my eyes out, shaking, convulsing, moaning, groaning and asking them to stop. Which…drum roll please, she did not stop! They continued injecting them while saying things like "Awww" "I know" "It’ll be over soon", which I honestly couldn’t care less to hear because my gums were on FIRE. I have never in my life experienced pain like this, especially because I have tattoos and piercings and generally have a high pain tolerance. But the lack of care, professionalism and understanding that a patient is in pain and asking you to stop, is jarring. Once the pain subsided and the numbing injections kicked in, 2/4 extractions I couldn’t feel but the other two, I felt the crack of my tooth and could feel her pull it out.. After everything was done, I was rushed out and was handed a small packet with 2 sheets of paper telling me when I could eat again and a prescription for pain killers. No gauze, no syringe to rinse the extraction sites, no ice pack, nothing. Then oh yeah, I just got a bill in the mail saying I owe an additional $22, even though I have the original invoice and receipt showing I paid what was due. In full :/
Very easy wisdom teeth extractions! I was able to schedule the consultation, procedure, and follow up visit all within a couple weeks of each other. The staff and Dr. Patel are very friendly and professional; they made it a very smooth and relatively painless experience for me!
