Drive to Tri-Cities and go elsewhere. I stopped by Union Gap location intending to purchase several specific items on my list and to get assistance selecting foundation and colors suited to a seasonal palette change (cool winter to soft autumn). I am not confident in shade matching and needed guidance on what tones work for a soft autumn palette. Due to understaffing, I waited approximately 40 minutes for assistance. When the associate was finally able to help, she spent about 10 minutes with me before needing to move on to other waiting customers. During that time, she repeatedly asked what colors I liked, but I was unsure and had hoped for professional guidance on what shades complement a soft autumn palette. She was also not very helpful in locating the items on my list or suggesting suitable alternatives when products were out of stock. Because of the limited assistance and long wait, I felt rushed and purchased several items that were not on my original list and ultimately did not work for me. When I returned to exchange a few items, I was just outside the return window. I requested a refund rather than store credit because I did not want to spend another 40 minutes waiting for help to select replacements. Given the experience, I intended to complete my purchases elsewhere. Under different circumstances, I would have been comfortable accepting store credit. The associate, Hailey, was dismissive and argumentative when I explained this. Even in front of the manager, the interaction remained defensive rather than solution-focused, and no alternatives were offered. This location appears consistently understaffed and understocked, which directly affects customer experience and purchasing decisions. Had adequate assistance been available, I would have been able to purchase the correct items from my list and avoid unnecessary returns. I have a household of seven, with five regular beauty shoppers. Experiences like this encourage us to shop online or with competitors.
Went to this particular store looking for one of the days of beauty deals which she stated they did not carry it at that location as I thanked her and turned to go further into the store to get another purchase I heard the same lady while she was training a new associate saying something very condescending about me as I had turned away from her which is not appropriate you are setting a bad example in Philadelphia for 2 years, first as a part-time seasonal worker cashiering then transitioning to guest coordinator in the salon and then transitioning once again to hair stylist if this is the kind of attitude you guys are fostering with your team leaders I find it very disheartening to see Ulta's customer service standards being lowered do such a degree. The Philadelphia locations do not Foster this kind of attitude where the women who work in this particular industry think they're better than other women that's not okay especially if you're getting paid to help your customers and having worked for this company before it really angered me and I would like it if a manager could please get in touch with me thank you August 12, 2025 Yet again, another terrible experience at this location. I don't know what is going on here. The store is an absolute mess. Not one person asked me if I wanted help but they had no problem eyeballing me to make sure I wasn't stealing anything and following me around. Not only that they are selling expired products which I will include pictures. So I go to the counter with my purchases and I get my birthday gift. And I asked to use some of my points. She applies. All of my points doesn't ask me how many points I would like to use. Just took all of them and applied them. I just don't understand why there is just zero customer service. I don't get it like I've worked for Ulta. I know what is good customer service and what isn't and this store is just so lacking. It's dirty. It's not faced properly. Everyone has a lackluster attitude. They don't want to work. If your Caucasian forget about it. They don't like you. They don't want you in there. It's really disturbing. I don't think I'm going to be returning here. I know I keep saying that but I think I would rather travel farther to get better experience and not be treated as suspect when I'm just trying to shop. I just don't understand why everyone shares this attitude in this particular store. I'm very disappointed. I keep going in there. Expecting better service and I don't get it. I don't know of other people are getting it. Maybe it's just me, but it shouldn't matter who the customer is, especially if I'm nice and respectful, and because I've actually worked at Ulta stores that outperform this particular Ulta. Even worked when we moved stores and had to move all the product and the shelving and that was a huge undertaking. I worked as a cashier as a guest coordinator and as a hair stylist so I pretty much know the store inside and out. If you guys are looking for someone to improve customer experience, I would be delighted to work here either. As a hairstylist. The cashiers and managers are not competent. Why I went in I wanted to use my Ulta card without having it in person, which has never been an issue. The cashier and manager wasn’t aware that you CANNOT do transactions over 509 if the card is not present. The cashier had me put in my information 3 times and get not complete need authorization messages. No one in the store knew why. I called the customer service line and they were the ones to inform me. They then said all of those transactions were going to stay on my card for 48 hours and that I would have to wait 24-48 before I could use the card again because it has been flagged. The cashier asked don’t you have another card you can use? Why would I use a different card when you get 2 times the points with the Ulta card? I also had just activated my reward that would give me up to 4 times the points for certain products when I use my card. The worst Ulta experience I’ve ever had.
I was treated like I was going to steal from this location &I was extremely uncomfortable. I drove 45 minutes from Ellensburg & I didn't appreciate being followed. There were 5 total associates I caught intentionally following me. There were maybe 5 total customers I the store at the time & I need 5 associates around me? I don't think I did, I truly hope no one else is treated this poorly.
Ulta has a very good selection of make-up, hair and beauty products. The location I visited was clean and well organized. So that part is great. However, in my experiences at this store location, for the most part, their staff is not friendly or welcoming with a few exceptions as I do occasionally encounter a friendly and helpful person. But if you don't care about customer service, then it's a great place to get your make-up and beauty products.
Came in today and the team Ulta had working was so welcoming and patient and they were all super helpful! Veronica helped me pick out and shade match makeup and was super helpful ! I got my ears pierced by Marina and she was really nice and helpful.
Service: Had my brows done today with the wax & tint. Brenda was awesome. She was very attentive to the color and made sure to get the right match.
