Pay Less

This is a great grocery store. I will only shop at this one. The staff are generally super great. Always have carts inside and the store is pretty clean and they keep expired things picked up. Just gotta make sure you have the app and clip your digital coupons.

The fact that you have to have a card to receive discounts seems to be old school. I like meijer who have deals for everyone no card needed. Payless should jump on the Mperks train and if you want special perks you can get them or you can just shop and get the deals. I’m just not a fan of carrying around all these cards. Not to mention the overall savings it is to shop at Meijer as compared to Payless. I will say though Payless sushi bar is better than meijer but meijer is knocking on Payless door.

I gave only one star not because of the store but a cashier(name tag says Mary Jo) she is very rude, she is to busy with her nose in the other cashier/customers business when she should be waiting on her own customers. A lady was left standing in line waiting for her while she stocked candy bars and saw me getting in line and still left us standing there. Also she has twice told me that I couldn’t use my coupons because one I didn’t buy the product when I had which I and the stock boy went through my shopping bags to prove it to her and guess who was right? It wasn’t her! And then the next time said I had bought hamburger that was marked down, (which I didn’t) and I couldn’t use coupon. Also she would not give me the big box of donuts that clearly had a sign $5 for Friday, said it is no longer $5 for Friday that they changed the price to $6 and I said that’s not what it said when I came in to start my grocery shopping and she said,"O well!"

The deals are getting less an less an now I have to always scan an bag myself. If im doing that job then I should get a discount. Use to be go to place but not anymore

Payless has great deals if you use the online coupons. Their products are marked very well to tell you which products need online coupons. If you are not computer savvy, you can tell the cashier to scan the paper coupon for you. (Yes, it is a pain in the butt, but it saves money!) When shopping, be careful looking at the prices. Many items are priced with "if you buy 5 items". It is easy to overlook those words!

Its generally a good grocery store. They have been renovating and moving things around lately.
