I’m usually not the type of person to leave reviews, but this Ulta branch at 1751 Central Expy in McKinney really made me want to share my experience. From the moment I walked in, the staff was so welcoming, friendly, and full of positive energy. They gave me so many sweet compliments that instantly made me feel comfortable. Stela helped me find the perfect foundation and concealer match and even did a mini makeover on me, which I loved. Another staff member guided me to a beautiful blusher, and the counter staff were polite, efficient, and so kind. This was my first visit, and I’m beyond impressed definitely not my last. I’ll 100% be coming back again.

Whether she’s looking for the latest makeup trend 💋, a new skincare routine, or hair care essentials, Ulta’s got it all. 🧴🧖‍♀️ What really stands out to her is the variety—you can find both well-known brands and up-and-coming labels, so it feels like a beauty lover’s paradise. 🏰💅 Plus, the store is always neatly organized and the staff are super helpful, which makes the whole shopping experience so much more enjoyable. 😍 They also have great sales and a rewards program that keeps her coming back for more. 🎉💳 It’s not just a store; it’s more like a fun beauty experience that she always looks forward to! I had such a wonderful experience at Ulta and just had to leave a review for Olivia. She was incredibly patient, kind, and genuinely cared about making sure I felt confident in what I was buying. I came in needing help finding the right foundation match and setting spray, and she took the time to walk me through multiple brands and shades without ever making me feel rushed. Olivia really listened to what I liked and didn’t like, tested different options with me, and made sure I left with something I really loved. More than anything, she made me feel comfortable and good about myself, which meant a lot. You can tell she truly enjoys helping people feel their best. The store associate at McKinney, named Wonder was absolutely wonderful!! She offered help, recommended products, helped me figure out my foundation, and answered all of my questions with a smile. She has beautiful personality!! Even after helping me, she offered to help others with a smile and eagerness. Thank you Wonder and keep up the great work helping others!! You shine like the star you are!!

Me and my daughter visited this location before Thanksgiving and were amazed by friendliness of the staff! I want to especially give acknowledgment to Maidaa! She wend above and beyond to help both of us get the skin care we needed ! She showed kind and genuine attitude of really wanting to help us and she loves what she does! For her l, you can tell, she does not simply sell, she wants to help women and she is very knowledgeable in her trade! She also mentioned to us deals we did not know about and we got our sale prices and gifts! We left so happy and will be coming back to this location!

This was genuinely one of the worst salon experiences I’ve had, and I would never recommend this Ulta for hair services. I came in as a walk-in specifically for hair tinsel because Ulta advertises the service as taking 15 minutes. The manager immediately told me it "wasn’t possible" because they only had two stylists and were fully booked. When I mentioned the 15-minute service time, she asked a blonde stylist if she’d take me and the stylist flat-out said no. I was told to leave because it "couldn’t be done today." While still in the store, I checked Ulta’s own booking system and to my surprise there were same-day appointments available, including one 45 minutes later. So I booked it. At my actual appointment time (2:30), I returned to the salon counter and told them I was there for tinsel. The same blonde stylist from earlier acknowledged my appointment and said someone would be with me shortly. Then she proceeded to wander around, disappear into the back, and basically kill time while I sat there waiting. About 20 minutes later, another stylist finally pulled me back. From the moment I sat down, it was uncomfortable. Both stylists were openly complaining about how annoying hair tinsel is and how sick they are of doing it… in front of me, the paying customer. One stylist literally mocked the service by saying "tinsel, tinsel, tinsel" out loud while working on my hair. If you hate doing a service that much, maybe don’t offer it. Now the actual work: it was done completely wrong. Instead of using extension beads or proper tools (like other Ulta locations do), I was handed ziplock bags of cheap, damaged tinsel to choose from. The stylist then tied individual strands directly into knots at my scalp. Actual knots. It was painful, uneven, and extremely poorly done. The tinsel was clumped at the crown of my head instead of blended throughout, and it looked awful. I removed the tinsel the same day when I got home because it looked so bad and my own hair came out in the process because of the knots. That’s how poorly this was done. I did not tip, and I don’t feel bad about it..! Unfortunately, the salon staff and management were dishonest, unprofessional, and clearly didn’t want to do their jobs. If you want to be told "no" when appointments are actually available, mocked for a service you’re paying for, and have your hair damaged by stylists who don’t know what they’re doing or don’t have the proper tools… this is the place. Otherwise, go to literally any other Ulta…

I did my makeup on Saturday at 1 pm and honestly, It was not bad but could very better . There’s one thing I want to point out. She did my eyebrows last and only used a pencil. For most of us Black women, our eyebrows are one of the most important parts of our makeup. We like concealer around the brows, we like them shaped, lifted, and blended , not just a simple regular line. That part disappointed me lot.
