First time coming here and were unaware of closing time but one of the assistants asked if everything was ok and let us know they were closing kindly so we were on our way out but we took a glimpse of something before we left but we were basically getting kicked out! like we understand you guys are going to close but there’s 20+ costumers and suddenly we getting told "they closing" every 5 secs…like alright we ain’t coming back any time soon.
Stopped by Sephora in Atascocita this morning to pick up a few products I was out of. Typically, it is always a pleasant experience, which I appreciate as I do spend hundreds of dollars in this store. But, today when I asked for a sample of a curl defining cream I wanted to try, which I have had no issue in the past when asking for a small sample request, the unfriendly employee said she could not do that. I proceeded to tell her I have gotten a few samples of items with no problem because I would like to know if it works for me before I spend $50 on it. The employee proceeded to tell me that they do not do samples of hair products. But yet we have all these bottles of hair products out here for testers…so am I supposed to do my hair in the middle of the store with a curl cream? Isn’t the whole point of a sample so you can take it home and try it before you decide you want to spend $50 on a product. Like I said typically I don’t have a problem with this Sephora as I frequent it often but for some reason today. I guess small things are just too big of a task. Thanks for the push to spend my money elsewhere. Side note: When I spoke to a customer service rep through Sephora about my issue she was extremely pleasant and helpful. And! When I typically go the African women with very short hair is the nicest, sweetest, most helpful and informative employee and I have encountered her numerous times so I will add a star for her . IF I go back I will be sure to get her name and update this review.
When I tried to pay for my items the card reader wasn’t accepting my payment and kept displaying a message that said "communication error". I tried using two different debit cards and Apple Pay and it still wasn’t working. I’ve never seen this message on a card reader before, it’s either going to say "approved" or "declined" so I asked the girl that was checking me out what communication error meant and she said that I needed to contact my bank and that my card declined and acted like there was nothing she could do. I just used one of the cards at target not even 20 minutes prior and I know for a fact that both of my debit cards had money on them so I was genuinely confused. The girl was adamant that the issue was on my end and didn’t even try an alternate way of completing the transaction, and she told me that they could hold my items until 7pm. This is when I started getting irritated because I felt like I was being dismissed and I had every intention to leave the store with the items I shopped for. I let her check out the customers behind me while I was contacting my bank and they said that I don’t have any declined transactions. The girl behind the counter really couldn’t be bothered with trying to assist me any further and being that Sephora already has a reputation of profiling I felt insulted that this girl was so smug about the situation. The girl ended leaving the counter to do something else and a different employee came up, something told me to ask her if she could try checking me out on a different register (which she did) and magically the transaction went through and there was nothing wrong with either of my debit cards. I was relieved but also upset about the fact that I had to stand next to the counter for 10-15 minutes embarrassed and scrambling to figure out why my cards weren’t working.
I did not buy anything from here. The wife got a bunch of cosmetics here and was happy. So I give 5 stars.
I came in looking for new foundation recs and had the pleasure of being assisted by Holly. She listened attentively to what I was looking for and gave me fantastic recommendations. She also patiently worked with me to color match to my skin all her recommendations and even talked me into buying a color corrector and concealer. She was respectful and professional throughout and honestly I’ll be looking for her specifically the next time I step into this Sephora location. It is refreshing these days to get customer service at this caliber and I hope she is recognized for her excellent work.
I walked into this Sephora fully prepared to spend $400 on a new fragrance. From the moment I stepped in, I wasn’t greeted, acknowledged, or offered any assistance. I went straight to the fragrance section—still nothing. It honestly felt like I was invisible. After finding the perfume I was looking for but receiving no help, I left the store frustrated. I reconsidered, thinking, "I’m already here, I’ll just grab it." So I walked back in and asked an employee for assistance. She told me she needed to go to the back for another customer first, then she’d help me. That made no sense—she could have asked what I needed and brought both items back at once. Eventually, she did ask what I wanted, then went to the back again just to hand me the perfume. Then came the checkout line. Only one cashier was working, and I waited far longer than necessary while several other employees stood around not helping anyone. This was a disappointing experience, especially compared to the service I usually receive at the Sawyer Heights Sephora. The team there is consistently friendly, welcoming, and helpful. Next time, I’ll save myself the frustration and stick to Sawyer Heights.
I don’t know if it’s because the staff is extremely bored, but the aggressive helpfulness is really irritating. I cannot even turn the corner or think to myself without someone jumping out asking me if I need help. I was literally on one end of the aisle and two people came up to me. I got to the middle of the aisle and someone came with the basket. I don’t even have anything in my hands. Got to the other end of the aisle and another person was there. Meaning that four people approached me at once. When would I actually get the chance to actually shop comfortably? If you think I’m stealing, then just arrest me! if not, allow me to shop in peace for goodness sake.
