It has really fun and playful things to see inside Parkway Plaza mall in El Cajon, California where I visited with someone. The whole mall feels lively in a way that surprised me, because every corner had something different going on that teenagers would enjoy a lot. When I walked through the main areas, I noticed so many teenagers hanging out together, laughing, taking pictures, and just enjoying the freedom of being in a place that feels safe and full of energy. The atmosphere there reminded me of the kind of spot where teenagers can be themselves without feeling rushed or judged. One thing that stood out to me was how many stores had bright displays and colorful setups that made the whole place feel more exciting. Even the seating areas around the mall had this relaxed vibe that made it easy to stop and take a break without feeling like you were in the way. I saw teenagers sitting together in groups, sharing snacks, showing each other things they bought, and taking fun photos around the mall decorations. Everything about the environment felt welcoming and easygoing, which makes it perfect for teenagers who love spending time somewhere that feels both fun and comfortable. It is a familiar mall to me, but I didn’t realize how much there was to enjoy there until I walked around inside with a more playful mindset. I really appreciated how easy it was to have fun there without feeling overwhelmed. The whole experience felt smooth and comfortable, and I never doubted that the visit was going to turn out the way I hoped it would. I only visited Parkway Plaza one time in my life before I made this review, but that one visit was enough to show me how enjoyable and welcoming it is. It was one of the most lively and teen‑friendly places I’ve been to in a long time, and I would highly recommend that even teenagers go there because it gives them a place to hang out, walk around, shop, take pictures, and feel creative.
Parkway Plaza is a great place to shop! Lots of stores to choose from, a nice food court, and the mall is always clean and easy to get around. One of my favorite spots in the area!
This review is for "international perfumes" and not the entire mall. I am writing to express my absolute frustration and complete disappointment with the disgraceful customer service at the perfume store inside Parkway Plaza Mall. Quite frankly, the level of unprofessionalism is astounding. I arrived at the store to make a purchase, only to find the gates closed and a handwritten sign stating the employee would "be back in 10–15 minutes." That might have been acceptable if it were true. Instead, I waited over 30 minutes, standing outside like an inconvenience no one cared about. No update. No courtesy. No employee. Nothing. This store is closed more often than it is open, and today was just another example of how poorly it’s managed. Shoppers shouldn’t have to waste their time guessing whether a business will actually be available during its posted hours. It’s ridiculous, it’s unprofessional, and it shows zero respect for customers. I am disgusted, annoyed, and frankly shocked that a store operating inside a major mall thinks this is acceptable behavior. If this is the standard they uphold, it’s no wonder customers walk away frustrated.
Parkway Plaza is a great spot overall. It’s not the best mall I’ve ever been to, but I genuinely like being here and I enjoyed my time. They had everything I needed—from shopping to food options—so it’s definitely convenient. The atmosphere was good, clean, and felt safe. The layout makes it easy to find your way around, and there’s a nice variety of stores to choose from. The only reason I wouldn’t give it five stars is that it can get a little crowded at times, but overall it’s a solid place to shop and hang out.
This mall has had lots of upgrades. Many different stores has come on gone over the years it’s still a really great mall to come to with family especially your little ones for the indoor playground and the many different places to eat at the food court. Honesty I really miss the 90’s and early 2000’s it just seems now a days with online shopping taking over I’m afraid in the next 10 years the mall that we are so use to will no longer exist this may turn into more of a family center where you just come to play and eat. It’s really sad to see businesses have to adapt with time if they wanna stay in business everything online brink n motor going away think about it we bank, school, work shop all online.
Ver convenient mall to go to if you’re in La Mesa or El Cajon. The Walmart is now permanently closed if thats what you are looking for. My fav stores to go to are Wisdom if you’re looking for that Bob Marley vibe, Surf City for smoothies, Brow Spa for eyebrow threading.
I used to live in Santee and Lakeside from 97 to 2010 left CA when my sister took me to the mall it was busy and fun and interesting. When I left and moved out from CA. I was wondering if the mall still exists? I just now looking at other people's reviews, I kinda figured it would happened, after china's bio weapon of covid, things was messed up, during lock down, stores are disappearing, people are now into online shopping, those are the factors are killing the malls in America, even covid lock down ended, online shopping is becoming a new norm, that causes malls to becoming extinct.
