I was traveling for work last month and had to make a quick stop into this Ulta. I usually go to Sephora but I’m glad I didn’t. 10/10 great service and the manager Esther helped me find exactly what I need, even though the store was busy. I even ended up getting a travel perfume based off of one she suggested. I will look for her if I’m in the area again.

The spots of spots to find the perfect face covering products and hair care pastes. From nails to toes you can paint them with the vast variety of colored paints on the shelves. While the husband/boyfriends wait in agony to leave and the ladies have a field day looking at all the products. It becomes a victory once you step outside the threshold of the building knowing how much less money your pocket has than when you went in. Have fun...

On the 1st I got a correction cut on my hair. Maria I. was well experience and knowledgeable in how to cut my hair. She cut my hair just like the way i wanted to be cut. She an amazing stylist and very attentive she has a beautiful personality. The manager Maria was very professional she understood my frustrations in regards to my first hair cut in South Gate, Ulta. I would definitely recommend this location..they have great customer service. Ulta in Downey exceed my expectations. I would definitely get my hair cut again with Maria I.

I came in not fully sure what I wanted, but the experience made it clear whether this place was a good fit for me or not. The staff was polite; however, the overall vibe felt uncomfortable and unwelcoming. I did receive some guidance and a brief consultation, but nothing was really recommended beyond a shampoo and conditioner. The visit felt rushed, and I ultimately did not get what I came in for. I asked for bangs that would frame my face, but instead ended up with a very minimal bang trim that didn’t address what I was looking for. During the consultation, the stylist suggested wearing colored clip-ins instead of actually coloring my hair due to potential dryness. When I asked about hair dye products, I was told they only use professional products and was advised to ask an associate at Sally Beauty Supply The atmosphere felt icky and unprofessional to me, with stylists openly gossiping about customers, which made the experience uncomfortable. I made the mistake of coming to this Ulta Beauty location instead of the one my friend had recommended. The stylist was Lisa I believe. If you’re coming here for makeup, this location may be fine, but for hair styling or haircuts, I wouldn’t recommend this particular location.

This store has the greatest hold music I have ever heard. I called them on the telephone and they placed me on hold. Well, being placed on hold was not something I was anticipating on happening, but I'm so glad it happened. The hold music itself made up for BEING put on hold. They played a jazzy music style with electric piano and a second-hand store drum machine. It sounded perfect. I was literally dancing in my living room to this music and actually felt insulted when they took me off of hold and answered the phone. Right away, I told them that taking me off of hold with THIS cool style of hold music was highly unacceptable and disrespectful to my ears (that's why I gave them 4 stars instead of 5). I wanted to hear more hold music so she put me back on hold and the cool music started up again and I started dancing again. It was an unforgettable experience. So I highly recommend calling this place and asking to be put on hold (whether they WANT to put you on hold or not). You will feel like dancing too when you hear this music. Hopefully if you're lucky, they will forget about you and leave you on hold. You won't mind... trust me.

One of the employees here is so rude and does not acknowledge or makes costumers feel welcome. He never has his name tag. Only way to describe him is he’s tall, black, with bleach hair. The other employees are helpful except for him. Please Ulta have a talk with him because he’s rude.

I really don’t like leaving reviews but I not once got a call back when the manager ( Esther) on January 20th I had ask her to please match me under my eye for concealer, she went on and with a sponge kept tapping hard under my eye it doesn’t take like 5 min to put concealer in one eye she kept tapping and went in my eye my eye got watery (I know should of stopped her there) but i didn’t so after that I went home my eye got red it was hurting all night next day I went and complain to a different manager didnt get her name she told me she was going to call me back never did . So that same day my eye was still red I went to the doctor hopefully nothing serious , doctor just gave me eye drops. Never again smh !
