As someone who has been to Aesop boutiques all over the world, Berkeley has stuck out to me for having the nicest, most helpful staff! I never feel overwhelmed like at other locations, or feel pressured to buy something. Vincent and Fahlo are incredibly respectful and lovely people.

Five-Star Experience Thanks to Mikel! I had an absolutely wonderful experience at the Aesop location in Berkeley, and it was entirely due to the incredible assistance of a staff member named Mikel. I came in looking for a new personal fragrance but felt quite overwhelmed by the selection. Instead of rushing me, Mikel took a substantial amount of time—truly an exceptional amount—to patiently guide me through their entire range. He didn't just point out options; he asked thoughtful questions about my preferences, lifestyle, and how I wanted the scent to evolve throughout the day. Mikel's expertise and patience made the process feel like a personalized consultation rather than a sales transaction. He made sure I was fully satisfied and confident in my choice, ensuring I walked away with the perfect scent that genuinely resonated with me. It's rare to find such dedicated and unhurried customer service. Mikel is the epitome of what makes shopping at Aesop special. I have to give a huge shout-out to store associate Jade who assisted me today! They were extremely friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming and did a standout job educating me about Aesop's products relevant to my skin type. I was so excited to purchase a hand cream and Jade even hooked me up with 2 samples! I left the store feeling so supported and nourished -- Aesop I hope you take note of Jade's top-level skill and positive attitude! 5 star experience!! Yay!

I love my Aesop and I love this location. Recently I had a little issue with a product, went online at 11pm and chatted with their customer service people in Australia... They told me they would forward the issue to my local store and when I got there in the morning it was like I was a celebrity! True to their word, the local store was expecting me, no need to explain it all over again, I just got a quick exchange and an apology for the inconvenience and I was on my way. That was a flawless customer service experience.. Thank You team Aesop!

I love Aesop products, but have never received such unwelcoming treatment in any store as I did today in Berkeley. As someone who also works in customer service in an intimate setting, I was really disappointed and a little astounded by such a rude associate. I never pressure my customers or make them feel they’re wasting my time and I always treat them with compassion; this is a difficult time for all of us. COVID-based rules are in place to protect us, and while I understand how difficult it can be to show up to work in these conditions, making a guest feel completely uncomfortable, unwelcome and like their very presence is an absolute inconvenience was so startling and upsetting I feel very unlikely to ever buy Aesop products in the future. No compassion was at all involved, and instead I felt very pressured to leave as soon as possible and generally had an awful experience, however brief. Please stress the importance of positive and kind customer service to your store representatives because they are the ambassadors of your brand and their attitude is reflective of your company. I hope next time I’m brave enough to approach Aesop, I’ll be met with a much warmer reception. Stay healthy, and be in peace.
