Umami Restaurant and Sushi Bar West Melbourne

Fresh sushi with pleasantly surprising options in appetizer and roll types. I travel for work and it can be tough to find truly good sushi. This place is definitely now solidly on my go-to list for Melbourne trips. The wait staff are also very helpful, guiding you smoothly through the menu with suggestions, and very attentive. Intimate atmosphere. Great date night spot. Highly recommend. 👌🍣

We have been here a couple of times throughout the years and I have to say the service is always impeccable. The beef bulgogi is always amazing. It has sautéed onions and mushrooms underneath it that are to die for. My husband loved his double spicy tuna roll. The dynamite topping on mine was ok. I did not like the "blackened" salmon on top of my other roll as it was torched and just tasted like gas. They were kind enough to take it off but let you know that they don’t usually do that. The shrimp tempura is huge and worth it. Unfortunately it does have the same sewage smell that many places in that plaza have. I don’t think it is the business’ fault, but the owner of the plaza really needs to fix the sewage smell.

I don't even know where to start! The lovely woman who served us was so kind, attentive, and amazing. The food, phenomenal! Some of the best Japanese cuisine I've ever had. My husband and I shared two sushi rolls, noodles, and ribs. Each dish was so well prepared, beautiful to eye, and delicious. You can even see the chefs making your sushi! I loved the low lighting and atmosphere as well. Truly great place!

Did not think id find good sushi in melbourne.. im surprised. Im from nyc and have lived in Cali for 3 years, this place is up there. Rice wasnt cakey, fish felt fresh, some of the rolls arent well "structured" for lack of a better word, but each ingredient put into a roll is pretty good. update: the calamari is chewy and the server said its supposed to be chewy, LOL got gaslit. Its funny

My experience was not good since we arrived we had to wait for a table to be available and cleaned then the waitress took a lot of time to take the order and bring the food. I was not impressed at all about the food, not tasty, the sushi roll "the godfather" was a big roll but nothing extraordinary and pricey. The Jaky soba noodles with chicken was with a strong fishy odor and a strong flavor of spices and smoked finally the seats that are attached to the wall are to high from the tables not comfortable.

There are great Japanese restaurants and then there’s Umami. Food is delicious and staff are friendly. When you walk through the door and into the restaurant is like being transported into another dimension. The Godfather roll is 100% worth it. Best Japanese restaurant in Brevard.

I've only been here twice but both times have been so great! The food is so good, service is relatively quick and the staff are friendly. The atmosphere is ambient with low lighting. Good for a calm place to eat in general or for a great date night. There is no loud music so it's easy to speak to anyone you might be with. Definitely coming here again. The second time I came here I got a rainbow roll with masago and cream cheese added. For dessert we got the strawberry crepes. MAGNIFICENT. They were light and fluffy, and a great ending to my dinner. See pics!
