Sheng Kee Bakery #10 - Union City

UPDATE Jan 7: I am updating my review because Sheng Kee’s corporate team reached out and went above and beyond to fix the situation. They were incredibly professional, admitted the mistake, and mailed me two tote bags along with two $10 gift certificates to make things right. ​I truly appreciate a company that takes accountability for their customer service. While I will not be returning to the Union City location due to the poor service I received there, I will definitely be back to visit Sheng Kee’s other locations! Thank you for the wonderful resolution. UPDATE Jan 2: The business responded with a generic template asking me to reach out via their website (as you can see their reply below). I have ALREADY emailed corporate (Dec 31) and sent DMs on all platforms with my bank proof and mailing address. I have received zero response. This generic reply is just for show, please have a manager actually respond to my email and honor the promotion I spent $120+ to earn. ORIGINAL: Ok, I feel completely cheated and scammed. I chose this bakery over everyone else’s specifically for their Tote Bag promotion, spending over $120 across multiple visits to earn the stamps. ​When I went to redeem them on Dec 29, they were out of bags. To be clear: this isn’t about the bag anymore—the bag itself isn't that expensive. It’s about the absolute lack of respect and the deceptive way I was treated. ​The lady working was incredibly cold. When I explained I live out of state and leave today, she showed zero empathy. She told me she 'had to close her book today' and gave me a rude ultimatum to either take the tarts or nothing. After I took the tarts, she confiscated my stamp card and refused to give me a note or a rain check. She essentially stole my proof of loyalty so she could finish her paperwork. If she had offered even a small substitute or shown a willingness to help, I would have been satisfied. Instead, she treated me like a nuisance. They are happy to take your money for weeks, but they will scam you out of your reward at the finish line. Extremely unprofessional and dishonest.

Stumbled upon this bakery when waiting for Boba tea. This place has affordable, delicious sweet and savory pastries. The pastries and rolls are fresh and the team keeps restocking throughout the day. The sponge cake is a must try. It’s light, fluffy, minimally sweet and melt in the mouth texture. In love with the orange and vanilla flavored cakes. The brioche cream bun, and the matcha red bean rolls are also on point. Great snacking options. Must try place in town

05/24/2025 we bought a black sesame cake for my son’s birthday. We had a slice each but feel it’s so dry and has a strange tartness but didn’t overthinking. Tonight I had another slice and found out the bites taste like mold. I turned around and saw some white spots at bottom. I will return tomorrow for sure.

Not sweet at all. Airy fluffy moist cake with perfect amount of passion fruit layer on top. Beautiful design fir 32$ incredible

I ordered a cake to pick up and bought some extra items while I was there. The is a $10 minimum limit for credit card purchases, and it took a while for them to find my order. The cakes are good but service can be slow.

Located in a shopping center next to Wells Fargo. This place had many customers inside grabbing baked goods. The green tea mooncake is dense and has a cookie-esque texture to it. It also has a slight hint of green tea flavor that does not overwhelm the taste buds, it is a bit sweet but manageable. The butterfly pastry reminds me of a butter cookie. It’s good. The prices of the baked goods are reasonable ranging from $2 - $5.

We bought so much bakery items from here because I was totally craving. it was great. I love their cream. What's nice is that all the items were already individually packed so you didn't need to use to the tongs.
