Loved it. I wanted to try one of everything here. The koja original is truly original. Taste so good if you go you'll have to try this. The bowls are great and salads to. Even the kids meal had as.much rice as an adult plate. The staff are very friendly l, the place is clean and stocked well. To top it's open late, all wins in my book. I'd recommend if your looking to try something different.
First time coming to this place , and saw they had a good selection of food . Our group had ordered a variety of items so was able to sample a few things . Tables and restaurant itself was nice and clean . I appreciate they do have environmentally friendly Togo containers . Really liked how they have the stubborn brand soda verses the typical Pepsi or coke brands .
We went to KoJa because I had a BOGO coupon from the OC Dining Guide. I got the Teriyaki Zen bowl and my boyfriend got the Beef bowl. I didn't realize that the mushroom mentioned for my birthday was like a meatloaf-textured mushroom-based protein and I was a little confused by that. It wasn't bad, a little more much with the black pepper than I expected. The beef bowl must have been great, as he finished all of it fairly quickly 🙂 It was late in a Sunday night, so the didn't have many people there and there food was ready quickly. We were also lucky enough to benefit from the happy hour specials for the beers!
I was exposed to this place via Instagram. I saw some pictures of their food and just had to check it out. I ordered the Original KoJa and Kamikaze fries. The food was as delicious as it looks. It was too much food to finish in one sitting so the fries got to go home with me. One thing I want to mention of the service I got at the register. The gentleman that took my order was sooo nice and super respectful. He made me feel like I was the only customer that mattered. I will go back just for the service alone. The delicious food is a major bonus. 🙂👍
They were out of beef on the night I went so my plan to get two different beef tacos and one chicken taco had to be changed at the last minute and I got their chicken sandwich. The chicken was alright when the flavor was diluted in the sandwich but when tasted alone was horrible and had a fishy taste. The pieces that fell out were so gross that I couldn’t eat them alone.
The food is excellent here. The short rib bowl was really good. Short rib was tender and having it with some kimchi and some small fish roe and veggies and rice really balance out the flavor. I highly recommend adding an egg too to enhance the flavors even more! The only thing I don't like about this place is that the portions are kind of small for a $10 bowl. If you are really hungry, don't come here unless you don't mind spending $15+ on what feels like a tastier and healthier fast food.
I love the food from this place. It's a fusion between Korean and Japanese food. Their musubi is yummy. The braised pork koja is a very interesting twist of regular pulled pork sandwich. Instead of using regular buns, they use crispy rice as the buns. It's not hard and the pork is very tender. And then the pancakes. OMG. Aren't they fluffy!!! Great and wonderful experience here. **Checkout Insta: @mrakusuma for more recommended places to eat.**
