Super cute vintage Japanese diner! Loved the unique sodas and the delicious food. Literally everything we ordered was perfect. We got beef curry, chicken rice bowl and the shrimp okonomiyki (basically a vegetable pancake on noodles). Everything is pretty much customizable with the sauces and bases. So glad we chose this place and will absolutely be back!

The vibe at Chanko was effortlessly cool but still a cozy and welcoming diner! I was blown away at the portion sizes and the flavors. The Japanese Curry was warm, spicy, and layered well over the Chicken Katsu and Pork Belly Okonomiyaki - both of which were beyond incredible.

By far one of our favorite restaurants in the area. We lived in Japan for a few years and this food really holds up! The chicken (tonkatsu style) curry is my favorite. My husband enjoyed the beef rice bowl. Never disappoints.

Such an awesome project! When you first walk up to this place. It looks like a hole in the wall. It's basically self-service you order on a computer. There are no waiters. The food is amazing. I felt like I was transported to Japan. Excellent drink selection as well. Plenty of sake as well as Japanese soft drinks.

My boyfriend took me here and he got the pork belly and rice and I got the katsu chicken with veggie curry and it was really good. We tried a couple of their drinks and enjoyed them and ordered some to go. The atmosphere and vibe of the place is immaculate 10/10

I absolutely love Japanese cuisine, and this place did NOT disappoint. I had encountered this place on TikTok, looking for something new to try in Tampa, and when we rolled in, we were in awe of the place. They were super quick on service, and it was such a calm atmosphere after a long drive. If you’re looking for something that’s quick, delicious and easy to order, I highly recommend!!

The food here was good and the portions were definitely generous for the price, which I really appreciated. I wouldn’t say it’s fully authentic Japanese — it feels like it’s missing a certain depth or traditional touch — but the flavors were still enjoyable. The location is very nice, clean, and well-kept, making the dining experience comfortable and pleasant. Overall, it’s a solid spot for a good meal at a fair price, even if it’s not completely authentic.
