Customer Reviews
Pacific Moon has a rating of 4.3 out of 5 based on over 594 reviews on Google
Late one Monday evening in December, five of us were looking for a Pho noodle place in the vicinity and this Pacific Moon restaurant pops up on Google Maps. It was nearing 9pm and this was the only restaurant not closing soon and stayed open late. We get to the restaurant and the waitress immediately confirms that they do not serve Pho noodles. I ask one of the waitresses why this restaurant is featured as selling Pho and she just shrugs. We're hungry so we sit down and look at the menu and order Tempura Shrimp, Salmon Ceviche as appetizers and the four meals you see in the pictures - Loco Moco, Mark and Mike, Ramen and Pad Thai type of noodles. When the appetizers came out, I immediately recognized the style of the tempura, which is not even supposed to be called tempura. It was a Korean style Yachae Twigim (Fried Vegetable) with a piece of shrimp attached to it. So I figure, okay, this must be a fusion place and really looked forward to having the rest of the meals. The four entrees are served and we dive into the dishes only to realize that they are horrible renditions of popular ethnic food. Mark and Mike bowl, the top listed specialty was UNEDIBLE. I don't know what this dish is supposed to be, but I've never thrown away an entire meal because of some vile unfamiliar taste and smell. I don't know if the chef ever had a Loco Moco. Reminiscing about what I had in Hawaii, I was really hoping it would taste authentic but again, I didn't know what this dish was supposed to be. I didn't even touch the noodles after this, and lastly, WHO SERVES INSTANT RAMEN in a restaurant? I genuinely thought this was a Japanese style ramen when I was ordering it, only to be extremely frustrated when I saw Shin Ramyeon served. It was not even cooked right - there was too much water so the soup was bland and the noodle was overcooked. The servers were relatively prompt and friendly but this restaurant is taking advantage of people who never had authentic ethnic food and basically ripping them off. The only authentic item I had all night here was bottled Stella Artois. If you thought you were eating authentic food here, you have been lied to all along. Find a better place to eat.
Aja is one of the best bartenders i have ever had the pleasure of receiving top tier drinks from! Will definitely be coming by way mor often. Asias food recommendations are also so good. Food at this spot was great and drinks were next level
This place was not worth it. I went with friends and everyones food was either too salty or didnt taste like anything. Crab turnovers were straight onion. One person got the $30 dollar salmon just for it to be way overdone and dry. On the table they had chili oil that I kid you not was grey/brown from being burnt. The bathroom stall doors felt exposing and a ceiling fan looked like it was about to collapse. I told our waitress I was allergic to meat then found chunks of what I'm assuming was beef in my soup. All that just to have a bill of $50 for 2 people. The only good part was the house sake and the rest, disappointing. What a waste of time and money. Also we all were met with stomach pains immediately after.
Food was great, especially for price. The waitresses gave good service, better than a chain restaurant. If you want a good value, food & service this works great especially for a neighborhood place. If you’re looking for a super high end experience then not your place.
Items of note: Small extra charge for credit card. Friendly staff Delicious food Well stocked bar Had a wonderful time at Pacific Moon. Staff were super-friendly and attentive. The Raman bowl, I forgot the actual name, was really good and well seasoned. The portion is huge, with lots of noodles and vegetables. They will split it into two bowls (my picture shows split portion, vegetable) for a small charge. Oddly enough, this is a place I've seen often but never went in. I'm glad I did this time. A hidden gem. Went inside and it seemed to be quite popular. I found it amusing how they knew some of the customers names, whom I assume are regulars. Prices for the food range from around $10 to $30, and the drinks were reasonably priced. May be our go-to place for an occasional evening drink.
Food is good but service has significantly gone down hill. We had a young waitress last night who was very unfriendly and made our holiday dinner experience uncomfortable. Please properly train your newer servers to make your guests have a pleasant experience. Will not be returning. Management is welcome to reach out to me for more details on our experience.
I actually picked this place for our Xmas exchange, the service was as cold as the weather. Last couple of years we were here were amazing! But man they let us down last night with the cold shoulder, food took long which was fine but if we ask no need to be short with us. Customer service is not for everyone and maybe because we weren’t pouring shots and drinking alcohol we got this service. Please do better.
