Customer Reviews
Hanamaru Cafe has a rating of 4.3 out of 5 based on over 419 reviews on Google
Definitely overpriced for what was a small waffle and a lot of ice with less than 8 fl oz of matcha. Cute vibes if money isn't an issue though, and you just want a light snack.
To celebrate the new school year, I wanted to take my son to get booba tea and this place did not disappoint me. The lady at the register was super nice and friendly while explaining the menu. This place took me back to coffee place Ivisited in kyoto. My matcha latte was amazing 👏 🤩 おいしい
The taiyaki was delicious but the price vs the service makes it not worth it. We walked in with 3 tables sat, someone behind the counter on their phone, and me looking awkwardly to see if anyone was available to order. When the gal did come up she seemed distracted with looking busy behind the counter. Confused I stepped a little closer hoping to make it obvious that we were ready. The dining area was disheveled and the table tops weren’t clean. There was a decent sized cavern in the ice cream after I took the first bite which was disappointing. I paid $1 extra for red bean in my "it’s peachy" sundae cone and it wasn’t in there. Again, fantastic flavor, not worth the irritation of the lackluster atmosphere/service.
What a cute restaurant! I came here for the ube Ice cream in the fish cone. It did not disappoint. Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area.
My husband and I shared: - Blueberry Taiyaki - Sausage and Cheddar Taiyaki - Pepperoni and Mozzarella Taiyaki - Ube Filled Taiyaki topped with Mochi and Caramel Syrup over Vanilla Ice Cream - Spam Musubi with Egg - Mitarashi Dango I love Taiyaki and it's always a treat to find a place that has savory options. Those were my favorite here, but the sweet was good too. I've never had Dango before and absolutely loved it. I don't think you can go wrong here. Everything was delicious!
This place is my new favorite go-to for soft serve. Their unbelievably affordable Taiyakis are perfectly crispy and sweet like a waffle with a unique flavor and soft inside. If you get ice cream you have to get a cone or upside down as these taiyakis make it that much better. The soft serve (I got UBE) was sweet, creamy and yet not too heavy. The portions are great. Surprisingly, though, their food options are good too. We loved the bulgogi and chicken curry (the potatoes and sauce are DELICIOUS!) as well as the takoyaki (octopus balls). I tried the savory pepperoni mozzarella taiyaki and while it wasn't as cheesy as Elder Eats made it look, it was still yummy. My mom got an ube taiyaki and loved it so much she ordered another to go. My sister got the limited time chocoholic ice cream and it looked too good to be true. Rich, decadent chocolate ice cream, syrup, cookies and a chocolate taiyaki. Ultimately we will be going again! Ambience only 3 stars because it's uncomfortably cold and dark. Other than that nice and clean. Price wise- it adds up quickly. If you're planning on getting a drink (boba tea, matcha latte, lemonade), a lunch or snack item , and then ice cream, expect to spend 20 dollars a person. If you stick with just one thing it'd be under 10 dollars.
Food is good staff is friendly. Got the nikujaga bowl, bulgolgi and a spam musubi. It was all good. Not too sweet. Definitely gotta come back and try the taiyaki and ice cream. That all looked amazing.
