Gong Gan is a Korean-inspired coffee and food shop. Loved the decor... nothing matches, but somehow it all makes perfect sense. Not a big coffee drinker, but they had the best decaf I’ve ever had. Also tried the crème brûlée brioche french toast yum'may! The only thing I’d tweak is making the custard layer a little thicker. The sauce was slightly too wet for my taste, but some people might love it that way. Overall, everything was delish and I’ll be back to pay another visit!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wow, this place is only one minute from my home and I never knew it existed! I found it on the map and decided to try it. The guy at the front was very friendly and helpful. I ordered a latte and a sweet dessert (not sure of the name) and both were super delicious. I usually drive far for good coffee, but not anymore. I’m so happy I found this café — I’ll be coming back every day!
Fits is a 15/10. We all did the thing. Drinks were cute and weird! Great flavors. Great space to sit and discuss. Meet a new great friend. Will be back
It looks like regular coffee, but it doesn’t taste great. Drinks with artificial flavors and colors don’t seem the healthiest choice. It’s good for sharing on social media, but I’m not too keen on going there every day. The mornings are quiet, and only one person is working. The seats are nice, but they’re a bit of a pain. And that black toilet in the bathroom? It’s a bit of a turn-off because it feels like it belongs in a horror movie.
Super cute little cafe! My favorite drink was the corn latte especially with the little crumbly bits on top but everything we ordered was good.
They have very interesting and unique coffee drinks as well as Matcha drinks the drinks taste so good and look very aesthetic as well. The food was amazing. It’s a Korean-based café so the food is Korean inspired as well. It’s a bit pricey for the dishes, but what can you say about inflation. However, it’s totally worth the price to eat the food. I got the kimchi fried rice. My friend got the bento box and they were both very amazing and delicious almost as good as how well my mom makes it at home. The service is awesome, and the ambience and the decorations of this place is really pretty and very photogenic. Highly recommend coming here if you’re in Silver Lake, and want some Korean inspired dishes, and delicious drinks.
Honestly, I’ve heard some mixed reviews on Gonggan so I had to go try! I came here with a friend and was honestly impressed with every single thing we tried. If you’re a matcha lover, this place is heaven. We started with the Corn Cream drink: super creamy but not overly sweet. It had that rich, nutty flavor (고소해 lovers, you know what I mean!). Then came the Strawberry Matcha: which converted my friend who only drinks americanos. The bitterness of the matcha (ceremonial grade too!) balanced so well with the tangy, sweet strawberry layer. SO good. My personal favorite was "The Matcha Croffle."It was decadent, but again, not cloyingly sweet. I literally used a spoon to scoop up the leftover cream and ice cream. No shame. 😂 We also tried the Brioche French Toast with Burrata, which somehow manages to be sweet and savory in the best way. The burrata was fluffy and the syrup brought it all together like a fancy brunch dish you’d expect at a high-end restaurant. The Gonggan Latte is a must-try if you like cream-topped espresso drinks. Their cream is different! lighter, smoother, and super well-paired with the bold espresso. And here’s the kicker: they serve alcohol! Their housemade soju highballs are a game changer. We tried the Korean Melon and Plum!! both super refreshing and not too strong, perfect if you’re not into straight soju. The space is clean, and aesthetically pleasing with great natural lighting. Perfect for your instagram update 🤣🤣 for a Saturday lunch, I really didn’t wait for so long to order or to get my food! Street parking is available, but it’s metered, so keep that in mind. Gonggan is definitely going into my regular rotation. Whether you’re here for matcha, brunch, or just a vibey place to sip and chat♥️ they’ve got you covered.
