Palm Tree Palace has a rating of 4.1 out of 5 based on over 308 reviews on Google
I must say, after moving here from New York City upper East Side, Palm Tree Palace is an oasis in the desert here! The servers and chefs here are the experts on fine Cantonese cuisine! So delectable and savory Peking Duck and crispy pan fried noodles and sesame balls which rival Chinatown NYC and SF!
Very tasty food! Not too spicy (dispute our very spicy request). But the flavors were good! Our favorite dishes were the Filet Mignon French, Eggplant with Garlic, Shrimp with Garlic. Service was great! Food came quickly, and the staff was very attentive and warm. We made a reservation because it was a bday and large party; but seems pretty easy to stroll in off-season. It was full by 5:45/6ish. Large lot in the front. Four stars instead of 5 on the atmosphere rating because they have a giant TV on…but maybe that’s a me problem. Lol
We came here for Chinese New Years, and it is awesome. They have a great menu, which is hard to find in the Coachella Valley when it comes to Chinese food. I love roast duck, and it's excellent here. The pan-fried dumplings were outstanding. Loved the Singapore noodles.
The food varies as to whether or not we liked a dish. Cashew Chicken is very good. Orange Chicken was supposed to have a bit of crunchy outer coat, but it was kinda soft. The chicken was a bit tough and stringy. The BBQ Beef Fried Rice was good. We ordered ahead and to go, 3 Sesame Balls (also called Chinese Donuts in San Francisco.) They take about 20 mins to make which is why we ordered ahead. They brought the bill and I noticed the Sesame Balls weren't on it. So they forgot to take that order, or make that order, so we had to wait another 20 minutes. Then we got our bill for 2 people (no alcohol), which was for $93! So they are quite expensive, and this would keep us from going say once a month. We decided every 6 months would be ok. The CV is hard up for good Chinese Restaurants, but this one in La Quinta is always recommended as the best.
Food 5 star Service 5 star Atmosphere 5 star Only problem is I've come here multiple times and fountain sodas are flat. But they have can sodas and other beverages. Food taste good, diffrent flavors Service, they keep checking on you Atmosphere place has good vibe and looks clean. Recommend for everyone! Had Mongolian beef Pork BBQ con Pau chicken
We came in New Years. They charge 20% for 6 people or more its stated on the menu we were a family of 4 and they charged the add 20% on the bill it was around $20 for tip. We questioned it and the waiter stated because its a new year and a holiday we are charging the tip on eveyone. Like, what! Where is that stated on the policy or door entrance. What a terrible 1st and last experience. Be CAREFUL AND MINDFUL before coming here they may charge you an add 20% charged on your check without notice. They were a bit rude just roaming around looking over our table evey 10 mins like if they wanted us to rush. The food was okay the chili oil is not authentic and non spicy. 😒
Our old Chinese restaurant spot hasn't been the same since the new owners, so we tried this spot. Our second time here and the food has been very good. The Garden Chicken and the Shrimp Fried rice were very tasty. We also got the Chicken Chow Mein and a couple of appetizers.
