Customer Reviews
Hancock has a rating of 4.4 out of 5 based on over 1021 reviews on Google
The atmosphere here is an old garage restored to a bright and cheery space. You order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. I ordered the Half Chicken Platter ($20). The chicken was perfectly cooked and I got it at spice level hot, which is level 3 of 5. The hot is definitely hot, but it doesn't burn. The chicken was very crispy and juicy. It was very tasty. While it's not the best I've ever had, it is definitely worth a visit. I got it with baked beans and B&B pickles. The beans were good, but nothing special. The pickles were very good. I also got the Fried Chicken Sandwich ($13) at spice level 1 aka sweet. It was very good and the sweetness was tasty. I wish it was a nice thick chicken filet, but it's actually a pair of tenders. They are tender and tasty, I just wish it was thicker. I got the drop biscuit with it and that was probably the best thing I had. Super flaky and melts in your mouth. The service was super friendly and very fast. Overall a solid 4 star review. Would I return? Yes, if I was already in the area. The only real downside was the parking. There is a lot next door, but the price is highway robbery. There are a few paid spots out front too, not sure if those prices are also robbery.
Solid food option if you are in East GR! The jalapeño corn bread was excellent. The vibe of the restaurant is chill and there are games that can be played outside like table tennis and corn hole. Like a precious reviewer stated you do not have someone check on you while you are eating like a normal restaurant but there is still an option to tip. I’m not a fan of places switching to this method of less service but still expecting a tip on top of rising prices for the same kind of meals that used to be under $10 just a few years ago(chicken wrap with fries was $13). With that being said it is still a solid option if you are in the area
Love the Hot Fried Chicken! The pickles and BBQ Baked Beans are awesome too! I always have good, friendly service. I have been coming here since the day they opened and have not had one negative experience. Every menu item I've tried has been delicious. Love the outdoor patio and games too! If you love fried chicken done right, with or without the spicy heat, I highly recommend giving Hancock a try!
This is a regular spot for me and it's always amazing. I've read other reviews saying that they're inconsistent with their spice levels but that has not been the case for me. I always get their hot level and it's consistent in heat and flavor. Absolutely one of the best places to go if you're in town! Also bought their hot spice seasoning shaker to try and make my own hot chicken at home because I'm always craving Hancock 😂
I will definently be returning to this place. They have outside seating and a area for kids to play. The food was delicious. I ordered Brussel sprouts, fish fillet with mashed potatoes and had their Chai Somthing New cocktail and everything was good. The French fries are crinkle nut seasoned and crispy 😋. You can choose the hotness level of your meat which I think is dope. They have a selection of cocktails, beers, a few wines and if course pops and I believe lemonade. The environment is very chill. Be cute for a date, meeting up with the girls/guys or taking the family for lunch/dinner.
Hands down the best Nashville style chicken in town, not even close! Pro tip: there is a even hotter "off menu" spice level that is fantastic. The service team went above and beyond, happily making adjustments based on dietary requests and offering suggestion. We felt very welcome!
Most delicious cornbread ever! We sat outside on a beautiful night. We had the cornbread-so good - and the Brussels sprouts salad with sweet chicken. Loved the lime salad dressing and chicken was yummy. Friendly hostess. Only downside was we had to pay for pricey parking because we couldn’t find street parking.
