I’m not much of a coffee drinker, and I was about to leave when the lady asked me what do I normally order. White chocolate mocha iced? She was like yes we can make that! Topped with a butter croissant this was a great early morning stop.

Cute coffee shop located in Uptown Charlotte at the Marriott Hotel. The aesthetics were cool my Matcha latte was good. The prices are reasonable. Great place to work. The parking is hard so I am not making a special trip down there just to go there. But the place is nice.

Coco and the Director is tucked into the lobby of the Charlotte Marriott City Center, but absolutely don't let that be a reason to pass it by. This is a proper coffee shop, not a hotel afterthought. It offers a full spectrum of coffees from classic drip to espresso drinks with flair longside fresh-baked pastries, sandwiches, and grab-and-go snacks that feel curated rather than generic. The space itself is a pleasant surprise: warm wood tones, industrial lighting, and a mezzanine-style loft that invites lingering. There's a communal table for laptop warriors, cozy nooks for quiet chats, and even a small stage that occasionally hosts local performers or spoken word events. It's a place that feels like it belongs to the city, not just its visitors. Service is friendly and efficient, with baristas who know their beans and if it's not too busy, don't mind chatting about roast profiles or local sourcing. The vibe is relaxed but purposeful. This morning, it was ideal for some folks to have a morning meet-up at some tables. I had a comfy seat in the mezzanine area with my laptop to warm up with a drip coffee and watch the goings on. Whether you're staying at the hotel or just wandering around Uptown, Coco and the Director earns its place.

Fun coffee shop downtown! I loved the atmosphere if this place and there’s TONS of seating areas and options- I highly recommend going here if you have some work to do or reading- very cool and very conducive to work in my opinion. There’s tables and different sections you can go to if you need a little bit of privacy. I got my usual latte, which was just ok. Got their cinnamon cronut, which was not as sweet as expected- it was cinnamon and buttery and flaky like a croissant, but I expected it to be more sweet- so just adjust expectations if you’re getting that. All in all I recommend giving this place a shot if you’re downtown!

This review is from an old visit in late April 2025 I forgot to post! We spent $37 here for our order. I saw in an old review this restaurant had croissant sandwiches, but they didn't at the time of our visit, which was disappointing since it was the whole reason we went, but it's okay. This place is located inside the Marriott Hotel, w/ street access. Bathrooms are shared with the other lower floor businesses, ask the friendly Barista's for the code. There is one room with a big table for a large-ish group, and a couple other cozy seating areas inside the restaurant, with open access to the rest of the lower floor hotel which has plenty of table & chairs to sit at. Ordered: The Taylor - with oatmilk (Iced)- Rose & raspberry latte (couldn't really distinguish flavors, but it was not too sweet and yummy nonetheless) The Asia, (Hot) - Chai latte, honey & caramel (had lots of cinnamon in it, couldn't taste the caramel, but yummy and tasted like fall in a cup) 2 Bacon egg and cheese biscuits, thick bacon, very good 4 stars for food because I thought it was overpriced. Atmosphere was quite dark inside, but outside in the hotel seating area it was bright.

I love their coffee here my favorite latte ever is the pistachio latte. I went in to get mine today and paid $8.50. The coffee I got was not pistachio but hazelnut I asked them to remake it and they told me I was wrong and asked if I wanted a different syrup. Just a bit rude and as a previous restaurant worker I’d just bite my tongue and make another one. Im just sad I didn’t get my favorite latte.
