I recently visited Shah Ghouse Biryani in Cedar Park, a relatively new and small establishment offering classic Hyderabadi-style dishes. Overall, the experience was decent, with some strong points and a few areas that could use improvement. I tried multiple items during my visit. The Chicken 65 was just average—nothing particularly memorable in terms of flavor or texture 🍗. The Chicken Dum Biryani had good seasoning and a pleasant aroma, but it didn’t feel as fresh as expected, which slightly affected the overall experience 🍚. Mirchi ka salan is not all tasty, it is raw and bland. On a positive note, the Mutton Haleem stood out the most. It was rich, flavorful, and well-cooked, clearly showing authentic taste. However, it contained a heavy combination of oil and ghee, which made it feel a bit overwhelming. Reducing the oil content would greatly enhance the dish for many customers 🥘. Since this is a new location, some inconsistencies are understandable. The service was efficient, and all items were served within 15 minutes, which is commendable ⏱️. The cashier was friendly, patient, and helpful in guiding us through the menu, which added a positive touch to the visit 😊. Pros: ✅ Quick service ✅ Friendly and helpful staff ✅ Flavorful haleem Cons: ❌ Some dishes lacked freshness ❌ Excessive oil/ghee in haleem ❌ Chicken 65 was average ❌ Mirchi ka salan poor taste and flavor With a few refinements, this place has good potential and is worth revisiting in the future.
We went to this Biryani place yesterday and had a genuinely good experience. The biryani was super flavorful and filling, exactly what we were hoping for. After that, we wanted something lighter, so we tried the Apricot Delight. It was perfect. Not too sweet, not heavy on cream or sugar, and honestly felt like the right dessert after a big meal. We really enjoyed it. The service was also really nice, the staff was friendly and helpful throughout, which made the whole experience even better. Definitely recommend trying this place, especially the biryani paired with the Apricot Delight!
Had been waiting for this restaurant to open ever since I saw the "Coming Soon" board at the location. Finally got a chance to visit after they recently opened, and it was worth it! 🙌 We started with Zafrani Chicken 65 🍗—it tasted decent and okay. The real highlight, though, was the Chicken Dum Biryani 🍛🔥. Honestly, this is one of the finest and best biryanis I’ve had in Austin and the surrounding areas. It carries an authentic flavor that truly stands out but I feel it misses the freshness. This has definitely become one of my favorites, and I’ll be visiting regularly whenever a biryani craving hits 🤤—as long as they maintain this taste and freshness. I’m planning to try Haleem next time. The staff was kind enough to offer me a small tasting portion, and it was delicious as well 👍. 👉 Suggestion: Please maintain consistency in flavor and add a bit more moisture to the biryani.
I recently visited this restaurant and ordered the chicken dum biryani and haleem. The portion size of the haleem was very small. The biryani was disappointing as well. it was just plain rice mixed with chicken, with no real flavor. It definitely did not taste like authentic Hyderabadi style as mentioned. Overall, it felt like a waste of time.
I tried their goat dum biriyani which is okay not that great, rice is over cooked and the quantity of mutton is very less like we had just 4 pieces of mutton. Zafrani chicken appetizer is really good and coming to dessert Apricot Delight!!
Good, honest food with true authentic taste. Nothing fancy, just delicious and satisfying in the best way. A great place when you’re craving real traditional flavors.
Very disappointed. I’ve had Shah Ghouse in India, and the food there is truly authentic. Malai Bun – 0/5 Not authentic at all. Tasted like a regular sandwich bun with malai on side. Real Malai Bun/Bun Maska uses a completely different bun. Apricot Delight – 0/5 Not sweet and tasted old, not fresh. It’s way far from authentic dish When a restaurant uses the Shah Ghouse name, expectations are high. Please don’t sell items you’re not good at—customers order with excitement and trust the brand.
